You'd be hard-pressed to find a Catholic under the age of eighty who gives a shit about the Pope's well-being. I feel bad for him on the level that he's sick, but as a religious figure he's about as applicable to modern society as Joan of Arc or Zeus. A new pope would be the best thing to happen to the Catholic church.

I agree with Manurewa, it's freedom of speech. Nobody complains about the fact he's insulting Camilla (and insulting millions of Monarchists) and potentially causing her irrepreable emotional scarring with his jibes about her appearance.

Rove has his moments, and to be fair, anything you see on Conan or Leno was inadvertantly stolen from somewhere else. Conan is funny, Leno is dull, and Letterman tries too hard. I'd rather Rove over the latter two anyday.

Personally, I liked Rove when it was just 'Rove' (none of this Live BS) and on late on Nine. He'd talk. Dave would say words. Peter would be weird. Corinne would test cliches. It all worked. It's too commercial now.

I used to watch Rove quite religously... hell, I even signed up for the Live List one year.

But I have not watched that clown for a couple of years now. It's all too formulaic.

I didn't watch it last night, I like when a certain suburb has to have all there lights on and when rove tells them to turn there lights on and off if there watching the show I think thats funny

Did you see the one when they had the kissing contestant, a couple had to pash for about an hour without taking a breathe to win a prize :lol: :lol:

You see this is why Rove sucks ....... He blatantly copies gags and passes them off as his own.

The Light thing he did is stolen from Letterman, who did a very similar thing with the Empire State building in New York not long ago.

The kissing couple thing, i can somehow remember being on Hey Hey It's Saturday, back in the day.

It's great that Australia has a show like this. But the idiot hosting it shows how shallow Australia's TV talent really is especially when he is regarded as our finest talent. ..... ie the Gold Logie winner for the last few years.

McCallif was a poor formula. If they wanted him to host a show, they needed it to be a 'real' late show- not his parody. It suffered because the guests came on and weren't aware of what it was, and ultimately, those shows won't last.

Mick Molloy was hilarious, but can you really imagine world famous guests discussing their careers with a man who epitomises the Aussie 'bloke' level of humour?

Rove's humour is dieing slowly. I still watch the show for some of the interviews, and as someone mentioned, Peter Hellier, who is bloody funny. On the same note, I agree, Corine Grant is hopeless.

Whenever Rove doesn't get a laugh he either mocks John Howard, or he does what Conan does and mocks himself.

I watch Conan at 9:30's anyway. He is unbelievably funny. But I disagree on CWB's comments on Jay and Dave. They still have it, did anyone watch David's interview with Paris Hilton a while back or the Patriots players?
