Rugby Australia to target top NRL talent

Apparently Carter Gordon is a fly half with the Rebels. I don't watch too much union these days but is he any good? Would be worth an NRL club taking a punt on a playmaker.

The state's junior pathways have produced Test players in both the men's and women's games, perhaps best highlighted when Rob Valetini, Pete Samu and Rob Leota formed the Wallabies' starting back row against the All Blacks in Melbourne in 2022.

This was no fluke, with considerable effort having been made to develop talent at the junior level, especially in public schools.

For example, a partnership forged between not-for-profit organisation Academy Movement and Rugby Victoria led to the establishment of several public-school programs in Melbourne.

That song was off their Fear of Music album (great album by the way) and that was a fair bit before 1988.
Yeah, just stuck that in there without really thinking, they`d become a lot more commercialised by `88 I suppose. Early stuff was the best for me, Byrnes was a real artist and it showed in the music.

At a grassroots "amateur" level Union is bigger than League in Melbourne, but that means nothing in terms of professional sports.

Otherwise Soccer, Basketball and Netball would be our 3 biggest professional codes.

Honestly, In their entire 13 season existence I haven't heard any Melbournians talk about them outside of expat Saffers, Kiwis and Poms.

Triple M we’re saying today that Union might not have the cash to pay Sua’aili and he could be at the Dragons next year. If true, and he signs with ARU for $1.5 but can only get $1m in NRL, does Union have to pay $500,000 or could he sue for loss of earnings, and “seeing the world”
Yeh he can lol

I’m sure they have allowed for his wages it’s just people assuming they have no money cause they killed off the rebels

Depending on how serious the Rebels consortium is about legal action, RA could end up spending a lot on legal fees.
