I played on the second easiest. On the easiest without sprinting I wouldn't get tackled. Tim Grant ran 80 metres to score dropping off about 8 tackles. There's kind of no point playing if you won't get tackled.

After losing 58-0 I simulated the season. Souths came last with 5 wins and didn't win between round 12 and round 26 scoring 250 points all season lol

The growth of younger players is much better with the new patch I'm finding

You'll get the hang of it in little time TT.

I can't speak for everyone but the general impression seemed to be that everybody struggled their first few times until they eventually started dominating.

How does everybody check the OVRs of players? Is there a group view or do people just painstakingly read through each individual player?

Yeah I got smashed on rookie for a long time before I got the hang of it. Even then I was grinding out low-scoring wins. Got my offloading down pat now and that's opened the game right up.

I would also like to know about OVRs. It would be good if there was a better way to track player development. Those hexagon things do nothing for me either.

Over this game already.

AI throws half field passes perfectly in to holes with support play either side on the 4th tackle every time. When I do it, intercept, and when SBW does find his centre? It's FPN with O'Donnell in support and no one else.

Played a game where Broncos scored 5 times from consecutive kick offs in the second half, that's about equal to the amount of sets I had at all. Anderson putting pin point bombs on the 3rd tackle for tries.

Thaiday knocks on in the act of scoring a try, I'm tackled 1 metre out in the field of play. No scrum, tackled at dummy half for a line drop out  Gillett impossible to tackle 1 on 1. Wallace with a try assist every time he throws a cut out pass.

This is more frustrating to learn than Dark Souls.

9/13 completions against 24/27. 2 linebreaks to 19 but only 11 missed tackles. Still yet to receive a penalty in any game I've played too.
Practice makes perfect. Try quicker, shorter passes to combat the constant interceptions.

If you're playing career mode, change every players training mode to defensive. Your missed tackle count will reduce.

When the opposition put up bombs, I switch to a player furthest away from the ball and let the computer contest the kick. More often than not you'll get the ball.

Above all, don't panic. Get through your sets, keep on top of them in defense and you'll win. The AI in this game swings heavily on form in the games. If you're camped on your own line and missing plenty of tackles, you will lose. But you'll find that if you start getting some possession and makin some metres, it'll be the opposition on the back foot. Very much true to life

The jump is massive. When I went up it took a few games against London skolars and Gateshead. Then beat Magpies in NSW Cup and you are fine to start the next level in Career

Directional buttons. Press up for a more attack line. And leave it for a flat line

Has that feature always been there?

Just noticed it today, certainly crossed off one of my complaints.

In future installments I'd like to see more formations, including custom formations with added AI features.

They've always been there, they are meant to be used to get your kickers to drop back. Though nine times out of ten you get a second rower or front rower dropping back to take the kick.

SKD and Jennings defending in the middle third against Asotasi, Burgess and co while FPN is getting burned by Inglis out in the centre. Passing blindside down the left wing to JWH who drops it cold for the millionth try I've conceded through intercepts or mistakes. The line speed of the defence is insane, I can barely get a dummy half run further than where the ball was played in the first place.

I would smash my controller in to a million pieces if I didn't get the game for cheap.

At this point I'm happy if I can get a kick away lol

The game only barely resembles rugby league. Awful.
There are bugs that have been in there since the very first one that still aren't corrected.

The way it plays/is presented I'd be surprised if developers had seen a game.

Dummy half runs are only worthwhile if one of the markers is off side, indicated by the yellow circle underneath them. Attempting them at any other time will usually result in no gain.

Yeah, most times though they suddenly become not offside once I run though. Unless the patch fixed that.

I usually take a step out and pass anyway, seems to make the first receive actually run onto it. If I see a decent chance I just won't pass it and go with the hooker.

only as parramatta could i score 68 points in my first 2 matches of my 2013 career, only to concede 96 to be 0-2.

intercepts still killing me, trying to score off every play.

Haha yeh when you get a good run going its awesome but then you throw a long ball thinkin noone is out there and their centre picks it off and sprints to score. Feels good when you get the intercept though and spring 90m to steal the game though

I have found the patch has really affected how the AI controls your non-selected players on defense. Doesnt feel anywhere near as fluid as it did before the patch.

Is any body else experiencing this?

Defending I'm getting the hang off. It's cool how you can direct your players left or right when you're short or spread evenly when the ball carrier is centrefield. I assume the two wide players who are red is to put pressure on the kicker? It's down on the D-Pad IIRC

Attack is hard as balls for me though. Even using my forwards I never seem to really have momentum. Had a few sets down Parramatta's end and never looked like scoring. Thanks for intercepts.

When you play Career does squad size matter? I ended up with about 32 players - all signed from Jets and 20's - and let a few players go but it didn't say anything about exceeding my squad of 25. I only really wanted to test it out so I'll give career a proper shot.

Playing against Parramatta on the last they bombed across field, Morgan got the ball in clear space and he put up a bomb that went 5 metres behind him and in to the crowd  They were 23-0 up so it didn't matter but it was funny.

whats your psn user name?

You want to rack up some easy wins? I've got RLL2 on the 360 though anyway
