in attack short balls are key.

get on a roll by scooting out from dummy half and passing in one motion.

Kick early if you have to, defending against a team inside their own 10 is easy so develop a good kicking game. From that you will get plenty of chances to be in a strong attacking position.

Dummy half running I get tackled a lot but I am getting better at that and I try to kick early but I stuff it up and end grubber kicking inside my own 20 a lot

Changing the camera to End Far and turning the change camera to on tackle has completely changed the game for me. I can see a lot more of who is where and who is better in position to run. It makes defending a lot better too.

When the AI put up a bomb that's an automatic try I can't defend those but this game is growing on me a lot today.

This.

Started a new career with the updated squads. Personally I've found the forwards are getting more involved after the patch. In my first game against the tigers, my first try came from mason grubbering for himself into the ingoal

On the subject of grubbers, they're my new favourite 5th tackle option when I'm in the opposing half. 90%of the time it will strike the opposing players legs and ill regather with 6 again. In the same game that mason scored, rochow grubbered in behind the defense from 20 out, chased through, regathered, and had a clear path under the sticks.

I'm playing on the middle difficulty while I get used to the patch update, will probably bump it up soon as I've won my first two games by at least 20 each time.

Also I can't stress enough how important setting your training to defensive is...in those two games I've missed a total of 10 tackled, whereas each of my opponents are upwards of 30+.

Another funny thing that happened in the tigers game...from the kickoff Gidley got it and passed to no-one in particular, mckinnon had to run back to get it and had just turned to face the defense when Blair put a massive shot on him. Mckinnon lost the ball back and reddy (I think) pounced on it to score. Never had that happen before

Don't try to defend bombs. Just switch to the furthest away player and let the AI compete for the ball.

can i go back to back? SBW has gone off injured.

this is the best piece of advice regarding this game i have ever read, i've not conceded a try from a bomb yet this season.

Im getting better under the bomb

getting the second closest guy to the bomb and charging in for a catch works better for me

yeah baby

Hayne is a beast for me, if he gets injured i'm well and truly f**ked. against the roosters he had stats of 3 tries, 200-odd metres gained off of 25 runs, 14 tackles, something like 5 line breaks and a line break assist. he's leading try-scorer in the nrl and is leading the dally m voting.

captains knock so far.

Im finding more missed tackles after the patch

yes definitely

this may sound silly given that it would mean conceding more points but i wish the AI would draw and pass more, just seems silly that alot of times there's a guy who has broken the line, coming towards the fullback and all he has to do is lay it off for his support and more often than not he takes the tackle. :?

Ive had the player draw my fullback but ive never had a great fullback in career as long as they are quick im happy so that could be it when their defensive stats are not great

Im penrith and created myself at five eight

I simmed first year

my side now in round 8 is (playing more rookies at the moment) coming 5th

1. Sam Tomkins
2. Jorge Tafua
3. Brayden Wiliame

6. Me
7. Luke Walsh
8. Tim Grant
9. Kevin Kingston
10. Sam McKendry
11. Anthony Cherrington
12. Sika Manu
13. Adam Docker
14. James Segeyaro

How good is Tanginoa hey he doesn't have great stats but when you get a few good runs out of him he starts to really pick up

I've found a lot of the players with bad stats are beasts in the game. Before the update I wanted to bring Korbin Sims up from the Knights 20s and into FG. He's an offloading machine and one of the Knights best props in the game.

I bring up Kevin Naiqama from NSW Cup into FG and and he seems as good, if not better than Uate.

I've never had a problem with bombs. I just get under it and press Y/triangle.

TT, down on the Dpad drops your wingers back, or brings them back if you've already dropped them back.

With ya backs like Toutwi and Wiliame if you can put them into holes early and they can make some decent metres then they will start gaining confidence and palming off the tacklers

my favourite is having a nippy halfback set up for a kick pass it back and catch the defense napping and weave in through the line

scored an awesome try with Walsh running off a nice pass from Kingston

weaved through from the 40m line and got tackled but slid into the line

scoring better Looking tries now too
