The game will be out in time for next season and we'll have Foran, Merrin, DCE all running around for the wrong teams.

The holidays are when all the biggest games will be dropping, for the casual fan who doesn't even know this exists (and who could blame them with the terrible marketing for the game) it's just going to get lost behind the AAA titles.

From what I've hear the game is finished, so it's just a matter of sorting distribution and a few other things.

Ha they haven't even given a date. Same old crap.

Not sure what they will do. TB have Rugby challange coming out next month. They might have two games out at the same time. Either way you would think it would be bad considering the similarities of the games.

There was something on twitter with someone looking to make a list of games by Aussie developers that were releasing in August, to which the Big Ant twitter account responded with RLL3. Outside of that, this game has such terrible marketing you could be forgiven for not knowing when it is releasing even if they had confirmed it.

Not that similar really mate... RLL3 is first of all a different sport, and secondly plays very different, uses a different engine and graphics. Moreover RC3 is a straight port of RC2 with new licenses and jerseys, while RLL3 is a genuine sequel with comprehensive improvements

I don't get why they release games at end of the season?
Surely they should do what FIFA does and release early on in the season.
I mean, we get the game and boom it's already out of date.

Add to the fact that during the off season there isn't much League around to keep you invested in it.

For examples, if it turns out to be a copy of RLL2 with updated team lists, I'll last a few weeks then probably trade it in. More so if theres no League games on TV to keep me in the league loop.

If this came out in an earlier round to coincide with the Rep weekend, I'd put in a solid few sessions in between watching on TV, then keep coming back as the season progressed to play seasons mode or just to keep up my saturation levels as the rounds went on. Set up a finals series when the finals were on and play it out, see what happened.

With no league on, people will lose interest.

Dragons start with Trent Merrin as he plays in final game in the Red V a few weeks later? Come onnnnnnnn.

For a small sized company like TB, they would probably want these games apart, most of the league fans will buy the RC3, as will the other fanbase, but both being released during the same month may take away some of thier possible customers.

Yeah I tend to agree, but that'll mostly hurt RC3 I reckon, given Aussies are way more League focussed. That said they do apparently have commercial reasons for targeting the release for this part of the year.

I had this discussion with a guy from TB a while back and he explained that their sales always do better if the game is released around finals time. He gave pretty logical reasoning but I don't remember anymore - was a couple years back

Gameplay trailer is now out!

Last kick looks f**king terrible and completely not realistic at all.

The best thing about that video for me was the try by Matt Scott (I think) over Gal and co in the State of Origin clip.

Catching up and tackling from behind still looks clunky as f**k.

It's actually lowered my expectations.

Hope I'm proven wrong.
