Rugby League Live 3

If they want to charge the same price as other games, they need to expect criticisms based on the games shortcomings compared to those games. If it was a $50 or $60 game, comparisons to Madden etc would be unfair.

Are you also up in arms over the fact movie theatres charge the same for Age of Ultron as they do for local indie dramas? Seriously, a lot of these complaints just come across as pretty petulant and reek of people who know dick about the dynamics of supply chains, the effects of economies of scale and just generally how f**king tiny the rugby league game market is.

To all those who are wondering why EA or 2k haven't tried to make a Rugby League game, have a think about some of that first.

Maybe it's because I don't play too many games any more in my old age, but I'm pretty impressed with this game from what's been released. Looks like a tonne of fun to pop in and play with the mates in the lead up to a big game.

RoosTah above is 100 per cent regarding scale too - if you're losing your shit over it not being up to the standard of games with profit margins and market 1000s of times larger then you probably need to go back to school.

Personally, I'm a consumer, and I don't care about their costs. That's their problem.

If I can get a top notch game for $100 in a genre I like, then I'm happy.
If I can get an average game for $100 in a genre I like, I'm less than happy.
If I can get absolute dogshit on the 3rd, 4th, 5th attempt to make a game by largely the same company, and get charged $100 for it, I'll take it back and get a refund.

You are both still missing the point that the issues with the game have nothing to do with graphics or production values.

The devs asked what the fans want. At this stage, other than a few forum/facebook comments, it appears those changes have not been made, at least not with dynamics of passing/kicking, etc.

The beefing up of career mode is one thing I'm particularly excited about, because I like those types of game modes, but if it's like the last game, no thanks.

For the record, I hope the game is a resounding success. I've pumped over 200+ hours in Don Bradmans Cricket, so I know how well they can make a game.

That's all fine mate, but it's worth remembering that programming, motion capture and animations make up a huge cost in themselves. If the NRL were as big as the NFL they'd probably have the time and money to motion capture all the big players' kicking, passing styles etc, but they don't.

We still haven't seen too much of it apart from some animations that people don't love and a few other things. Let's give the game a chance before we bag it too much.

As for not caring about their costs, it depends on what you're after. As a consumer I know I can get a better soccer game than I can an NRL game, but I also can't stand soccer, so I'd rather play the NRL game even if it's not as high a standard of product.

Yep, it's really good. Bowling gets a bit repetitive in long matches but it's still great.

re: the JT kick in the trailer, I've not seen one like that in the kicking challenge on PC unless there's a gale force wind and I deliberately bend it as far as it will go. Think they just went too far trying to show off.

they need to get their priorities right

most people would prefer a game that plays well to updated graphics that mean stuff all if it plays like shite

If you held the left stick far enough in one direction you could get those ridiculous curves with the added aftertouch.

I've probably got about 100 hours clocked on RLL2, and I'm pretty comfortable saying it's the worst game I've ever invested that much time into.

You'll probably feel the same after playing this.

All I can say is I'm impressed you invested what must have been a couple solid months playing the game before discovering you hated it.

We all want it to be good. I think the majority are just tired if being burnt with a subpar product.

I get that the budget for this tittle is limited in comparison to some of the larger sport games. We know it. We see it.

The part which has been frustrating relates to ai specific issues and bugs. Passes that feel wonky. Players not shifting and or reacting. Generally a lot of the issues seem to kill the feel of the game.

Obviously production values are nothing compared to madden.

This would be the third league tittle and the game play issues have persisted.

I can look past the flaws because it's a league game and it's made by a small studio.

A more polished RLL2 with better graphics, be a pro and instant replay would make me very happy.

Yeah well that's what you get when you're a diehard League fan and you have no other options. At least NBA fans have the 2K series as well as EA's bullshit. There is absolutely no one keeping Big Ant honest.

Ross is an annoying merkin. He expects nothing but positive feedback, despite the previous games lacking in every aspect. That povo company didn't even have their own forum for ages..had to friggin free load from sidhe and here on LU.

He comes across as incredibly unprofessional and delusional. Keep thinking you are head of 2k sports you tool.
