B Smith in the backrow was part of Hagans 'Master Plan' just like Pig at 5/8, DA will ensure he isn't anywhere but centre where we need him, and if there were to be a back play in the fowards it would be Tautai, he has the right pyshique etc to be utilised in the backrow.
I think Smith and Tautai will be in the team for the backline rather than the forwards, anderson is smarter than that. In 3-4 years i could see Tautai in the backrow not now though.

I expect this team to run out.

One thing going for us is that DA is used to getting the best out of a team in recent years despite having a cod ordinary five-eighth (Leon Pryce).

If Keating (or Finch for that matter) get injured we're in real strife.

If we had a decent five-eighth and a quality prop I'd be reasonably happy.

If Keating can progress further and become a good running 5-8, it would add alot more to the team. IMO he has the potential, but he is still young and halves take time to develop. His kicking game i think could be better utilised, and while he didn't show much of a short kicking game last year (finch loved his bomb) I would love anderson to take him aside and get him to work on grubbers behind the line. Because he has such a good running game, if he developed that short kicking game it would actually complement his running game by putting defenders in two minds.
Hayne invlovment from fullback, he could play as a second 5-8 which he has shown he has the skill to do.

Up front; if Cayless can play a solid hand, the bigger plays like Paulo, Mannah and Moimoi would have more impact. All those guys are skilfull and getting them to pass the ball before and after hitting the line puts the defends in two minds aswell (something we did well in 06).

Hauraki is my big concern, if he can become a destructive wide running backrower like we know he can then I am happy for anderson to stick with him. If he goes MIA then send him packing. I want hindy in the middle of the park playing like a 3rd prop, Mateo on the right to link up with Inu and Hauraki on the right linking up with Smith and Grothe.

Our forwards arnt the problem, i think how they were used was the problem, and from there they became disintrested. Hagen use of hindy on the right hand side nullified all backline moves, and I think he is best suited to playing a prop type role and maybe seeing less minutes.

Caylo,

I've been saying that for a while. i.e. Hindy to play like a prop. He is not the Hindy of 2001, fast, breaking the line and outpacing the defense.

He should be moulded into a Webcke or Lazarus type player in the middle.

We want the wide runners to be fast and hindy doesn't have that anymore.

His tackling, especially one on one is still up there with the best.

When we used to dominate the ruck, it was mainly Hindy dominating the ruck.

He has the art of holding players down without being penalized, he is an awesome marker letting very few one off the ruck plays go far, he drifts across to follow the play to nullify support players.

Hi hitups aren't bad when they are in the middle.

However, I've been shot down for this in the past.

Brian Smith used Hindy as a prop often yet that thinking all changed when Hagan took over. Agree that he needs to play there until he's ready to go to the UK.

Plus, Hindy is one of the biggest forwards in our pack.

He needs to learn the hitup style of Petero, Price, Webcke, Lazarus. All big slow men but effective.

He needs to learnt to use his weight and lean or fall over into the defensive line.

Hindy just needs to stay wide and stop tackling so much, he starts every game out wide, then ends up in the middle of it all after about 15 or 20 minutes. In his blog he said how anderson wants him to stay at or under 102kg which is the lightest he has been in a while, maybe this is to get him to that wide running back rower on the edges that used to tear up every team he played against.

That was 10 years ago. Hindy needs to let go and move on. Keep him in the middle and do the hard work. Otherwise he just bogs down the backs out wide with negative runs IMHO.

That is very true, It doesn't have to much to do with speed but rather flare. Hindy doesn't like to pass before or after the line, Cayless is actually more skillful than Hindmarsh. Hindy's work rate is his forta and is best utilised in the middle of the park.
Anderson may want hindy to stay under 102kg simply because he carries alot of fat. He is not lean, and that would weigh him down. Imagine hindy with SBW body, he would be simply unstopable. Weightisn't always a good thing, while hindy is very strong i think he can still improve.

I think when Hindmarsh has gone wide we've looked very good. He still has it in him, he just doesn't have the speed. But he has strength.

Anyone remember that try we scored against Cronulla a few years back where Hindy got the ball on the last tackle, four defenders tried to tackle him, he remained upright and popped a beautiful offload to Burt who scored in the corner? It was fantastic.

Just what he needs a Ferrari body that spends more time at the mechanics as opposed to being driven.....

Nothing wrong with what Hindy has or does IMO. He just needs to add an offload......

also, his idea of a nightclub would be to spend an hour or to at the Winsto having a quiet schooey and a bet with some mates and use the toilet to have a leak and wash his hands...

he's no SBW that's for sure.

I remember but the key is a few years back and he doesn't do it often enough
