Captains and players,

please be aware of the above link which is our bible for the F7s.

If you ever have any questions, feel free to browse this. Any additional enquiries, please direct them to Skinner (Rules Manager) or myself (Referee Boss).

May you all play within the spirit of the game and have a great season.

I remind all players and captains that this is a friendly competition.

At no point, is anyone allowed to criticise the referee, especially in a public forum.

Message recieved Captain

No offence, but no one joined this to come last. Is there anywhere where people can question a mark recieved? Because quite presonally I want a second opinion on that marking, Willow would have scored that 95+ imo

Just wondering if this rule has been "unofficially" dropped or relaxed:

Posting / match penalties
At the top of each match thread is posted the following:
Please note - This is a game thread only, therefore only game posts can be made here (Teams, Articles).
Any other posts will result in loss of points and is at the discretion of the referee.

While friendly banter is always encouraged, forum members are asked not to bring irrelevant discussion in the match thread.

The threads for posting articles are for that purpose only. Should a team member (other than the captain) make a post which is not an article, a team penalty of 1 point per post may apply. This is totally at the discretion of the referee.
With great fear of reprisal as it's more often than not my own team-mates who engage in said banter in the match thread, but I was simply hoping for a clarification or even reprisal of the rule? :D

surely the consumption of alcholic beverages is allowable after the full time siren

*makes note to stop drinking prior to kick off, during game and whilst full time siren is sounding*

I don't think anything has relaxed, there's always been friendly banter in threads.

Az, the rule you quoted also says:

While friendly banter is always encouraged...
and
This is totally at the discretion of the referee.

The 'match threads are for posting articles only' rule was brought in 2003 - its a commonsense rule more than anything. In the bad old days there were bun fights during the match thread and this was one of the reasons why the F7s imploded in 2002. The rule was simply brought it to assist in bringing a halt to match thread hijacking by cranky folk. It has worked very well.

I actually quite enjoy reading the banter as much as articles, I hope it doesn't get banned to be honest.

I agree, its adds to the event.

IMO, players are really good with it nowadays and know the boundaries. I don't remember the last time a team was penalised for thread disruption, or if it has ever happened at all.

Exactly haha

IMO my team who were once...in particular myself...guilty of perhaps pushing the boundaries have in fact added another dimension to the match thread:D thanks to the humour of Unit and Furry et all..and Jebass!...Jebass! great captain.

Cool, glad to have it cleared up! I must say it is nice as it gives it a more relaxed feel.

I'm not sure whether the ease of introduction of my name into a discussion surrounding the pushing of boundaries and excessive consumption of alcohol is cause for concern...or celebration!

I would be concerned because being lumbered with "excessive" suggests somebody is keeping count.
