Story on nrl.com from Latu flat out denies he's being released. Said he had to let a fan down in Auckland who had said look forward to seeing you next year.

That said, Peter Griffin did come out, after doing the Peter Time dance, earlier this year and emphatically deny there were any issues for TMM stating he was a key part of their team.

He has 100% been given their blessing to talk to other clubs. As you said, that club has form denying.

Will he be a Warrior? A knight? Stay a Panther? Who knows, but these dudes are lying.

Pretty obvious why too, the media are trying to run some sort of 'players unhappy with the club' angle and talk of player moves is fuelling that fire. Guys like Latu and Peachey are just looking for better deals and more stable game time - the media take that and spin it into a 'player revolts' and 'club in crisis'. Can't blame the Panthers in trying to take back control of the conversation.

In Nz, one thing our club is good at is being reasonably open (or at least not denying) if a player is being allowed to negotiate with other clubs. The Aussie clubs just seem to deny until they're blue in the face.

I think that was pretty much assured once Ese'ese signed with the Knights.

No way the Broncos were going to let both slip through their grasp.

Is Peachey available? Back row of Harris, Peachey and Mannering would be pretty good imo - doesn't fix our middle issue admittedly

I'd do unmentionable things if Peachey signed somehow.

But, even if we did sign him I'm sure he'd become a dud overnight.

Well we'd certainly have to do unmentionable financial things to get him out of the last year of his contract that's for sure. But I suppose if you found buyers for the likes of Lisone and/or Vete that would sure help.

He'd be a hell of an upgrade on Bodene though & I'd certainly prefer him over a Kiwi like Greg Eastwood.

Good god no. 5 years ago yes, but Gregs been on the De$ Hasler diet to get that tyre figure body shape. No no no no. We can't be that dumb.

Scratch that. Of course we are.

For those hanging out for signing news; it's unlikely that any major signing announcements will be made within the next month or so.

You can probably take a breather.

Assuming due to the Salary Cap un certainty? Terrible management from the NRL. Should have been wrapped up end of last year.

I see Brenton Lawrence is going to the Titans, bugger. Would have been happy to have him for a couple seasons, would have been good value for money (if he stays on the park).

How about some minor-barely-registering announcements then?

Give me 2-3 promising QLD/NSW Cup guys who are desperate for an opportunity and I'll be happy.

Mix mentioned an Aussie and a Kiwi being interviewed for coaching role.

The Mole ( for what its worth, usual disclaimer, etc.) is mentioning Craig Sandercock. Assistant at the Tigers? (Presuming Wests Tigers?) Has coached in England and also been at the Knights.

Never heard of him myself.

Looking through his resume, he hardly knows what it takes to help make a team successful..

What about signing Benji on?
He is being offered minimum money at the Broncos.
We won't attract a top half next year and we don't know how Johnson will go.
So whatever happens we will have inexperienced halves.
Benji could be a good backup as well as mentoring the youngsters.

Benji wont come. His wife has a media gig here and gave it up once already when he went to the Blues. She wont be doing that again
