Rumour floating around in Oz, personally think there is more chance of Cliffy Lyons coming back to play next year than this occurring, but I'll chuck it up anyway

Cronk = Roosters
Pearce = Manly
Green = Warriors
Cliffy could still do a better job than Foran did this year. Game was always slow for him

Junior Paulo is on the verge of extending his contract too with them which is kind of interesting.

Not sure if it's possible, but could if there's any truth to them being over the cap, could they be extending him on a backended deal in exchange for taking less this year and next to help their cap situation?

In any case I didn't see him coming here anyway. If he was going to go anywhere it would have been Sydney and back to the Eels.

Tapine is the one I'd like to get my hands on if they have to offload anyone.

Interestingly enough, on the NRL website which usually doesn't report much in the way of rumours is suggesting that Pearce is talking with Manly, to pave the way for Cronk to Roosters and that Green will then link up with the Warriors.

I read that the Green signing is now a Done deal with Ata looking at the Bulldogs.

Still need a prop.

We sure know how to churn the young blokes... he just needs time. We have no patience or foresight.

If we get Green I still think we should keep Ata.
Yeah, no reason why we can't keep both. If I was coach I'd start Ata for a whole half of the season no matter what and then re-evaluate mid season if we need Green. I'd even tell Ata that to keep him from going anywhere and then he can focus on doing a good job for me. Green would be good cover for either Johnson or Ata because Ata I'm confident can switch to halfback and Green come in at stand-off should Johnson get injured.

The only way Green comes is if he's getting paid. Definitely over 500k per season for 3 years. You don't pay a guy over 500k a season for 3 years to be cover so you can test out your cheap option first. That would be the perfect way to destroy your cap, and would achieve not much else.

Yeah true. Thats no wonder I red about Ata threatening to go elsewhere should Green sign. Thing is Ata hasn't really delivered on a consistent basis the potential that we see in him and he's threatening to leave. Because he's not a 'proven' quality NRL half, we'd be taking a gamble on him over Green. If thats the case I say we keep Ata and remain hopeful and save 500k a year.

Am I the only one thinking that we bypass Green and set our sights straight on Pearce? Would be unlikely I know, but I'd hope we asked the question if he was indeed available

I don't like the potential Green signing. Not because I think Ata is ready for first grade, but because I think it's stupid to invest in four highly paid spine players. Whether we're picking up more forwards, or getting rejected by everyone so have the cash spare is irrelevant, I can't think of many teams that had 4 spine players who were both highly paid and high quality at the same time (without cheating the cap). It's too unbalanced.

Having said that, Ata (or rather, his agent) have been so quick to play the "play me or release me" card when the guy was still eligible for U20's this season that I'm not going to be crying over it if he does leave. Really sick of that entitled attitude that seems to be more visible in our players than other clubs (or maybe I'm just paying closer attention to ours than other clubs.)

From reports Pearce is unhappy to play second fiddle to Cronk.
Manly had the million dollar back flipper who I’m sure would be in charge there as well.
Not sure if he would be the right fit for SJ?

Agree we need props, where are the disgruntled props?
