JTS to sign on a performance contract, according to The Mole.

Even though the Mole is not that reliable of a source. This will be okay if true. Who knows what could happen and if it doesn't work it's not like we will lose much. Also trying to keep RTS is probably the thinking here so he doesn't wonder off back to Australia or Union.

Using that logic, get John Folau (released by Parra), with the hope that Israel may sign?

No. The difference here is we got the better Tuivasa-Sheck on our books already. Folau would cost way too much to bring to Penrose (Israel). On a serious note though JTS is no risk so I don't really see any negatives if we do have him on a performance type contract.

Manly Sea Eagles see red over Blake Green
  • Danny Weidler
Manly have a significant issue brewing in their ranks with five-eighth Blake Green, who is due back at training tomorrow. And it all stems from the way his agent Isaac Moses has been dealing with the club.

To say Sea Eagles coach Trent Barrett and the Manly management are unhappy with Moses' antics is an understatement. It's similar to the situation with Mitchell Moses when he was at the Tigers and the manager wanted to shift him to Parramatta.

It became an unworkable situation at the Tigers and this is reaching a similar level.

The unfortunate thing is that Green is the one whose reputation is suffering. Green is saying things to Manly that are positioning him as a player who wants out of the club.

Moses was the one pushing for the Eagles to sign Matt Moylan a few weeks back. He rang Manly to ensure they were chasing Moylan, a player he doesn't act for.

For weeks now Moses has wanted to engineer a move to the Warriors for Green. There is a rich long-term deal waiting for Green across the ditch.

Yes, it's understandable that Moses wants to do this. Firstly, because it's a good pay packet for him and his client. Secondly, because it helps out another of his clients, Warriors coach Stephen Kearney. Green could then team up with fellow Moses clients Adam Blair and Gerard Beale, who have secured long deals that, in Blair's case, have the potential the hurt the Warriors down the track.

Rival teams and managers are questioning the Moses connection at the Warriors and if Green, 31, secures a long-term deal, the noises will only get louder.

It was Moses who came to Manly with the idea of moving Green on, and now the Sea Eagles are being forced to defend themselves against accusations they wanted to get rid if Green.

The former Parramatta, Cronulla, Canterbury, Hull, Wigan and Storm five-eighth is valued, at least in the short-term, by the Sea Eagles. His style of play complements the way Daly Cherry-Evans plays.

It would be a brave move by the Sea Eagles to let Green go without a replacement. In fact, the board will ask questions of team management if they don't have a Mitchell Pearce lined up to replace Green.

Moylan, meanwhile, is due at Sharks training this week and he will look for a property in the coming weeks. We are hearing he will live with Andrew Fifita and his family in the short-term. The two are close mates and will be quite the combination next season.

Apparently Sam Tagatese is back on the radar according to the rumour mill.

Any possibility to it @Mixmasterreece as much like the Green rumour this one keeps popping up.
I don’t believe we ever closed the door on Taga - there was just a competing offer from Hull KR. Sam is still a chance.

As I said previously, Paasi & Sam were the last props we were trying to sign. If no Sam then they may look for someone else. There is still a NSW cup level prop being hunted.

As I’ve said, I don’t think we are signing Blake Green.

2019 options already being looked at.

Will be interesting to see who we go after for 2019 or even if we could somehow leverage it into 2018.

One tactic that's emerged in recent seasons which I really don't like is signing young up and comers early and then attempting to get them released early.

Canberra did this with Tapine/Paulo.

At this point though I wouldn't be worried if we pulled this sort of thing. No more being nice. Just get the players to help us win.

If the Warriors secure Green, they'll have Green, ATA and Johnson ... can I suggest that perhaps it'll be Johnson that is fighting for his playing spot.

SJ has been doing all the right things the past 2 seasons with the Warriors. His overall issue is he never puts his foot down and take command of a game more frequently. I hear the Forwards have to lay the platform but in the very few games where our Forwards in the Warriors were actually doing a good job SJ still goes missing.

I agree with what you say playdaball. We could see Green/Ata go at it. Be the best thing for SJ to get some angry pills in his game and not worry about messing his hair up.

No you cannot. To even suggest Ata is the same level of SJ is laughable at best.

On potential? Who knows. The guy needs NRL time to see if he's up to it, hasn't earn't the right to be a first choice half based on previous performances.

If our forward pack laid a platform or a half decent platform, and had some second phase in them, I'd like Luke to rebound, and certainly I'd back Johnson, RTS and Hingano. The young bloke is a good talent. Perhaps Pulu, Harris and Paasi plus Gavet returning will kick start them. Long story short, I wish they'd show some patience and back him.
