Don't rate him at all. Pretty average player, and we'd be over paying certainly. Why have they signed Curran? Or do they think he's a lock too? If that's the case, WTF did we sign him with Tevaga, Papalii and Blair already..

Hope this isn't true, think we can spend our $$ a lot better.

Apparentely we're after a centre. Euan Aitken, Jessie Ramien and Dean Whare are all available.

I can see use getting Whare ,,,,

I'd take Aitkin on Beales coin.
I'd take Capewell if it meant that we'd get rid of Papali (although I'm not sure it's needed, as we have two 'moneyball' recruits in that area, in Burr and Curran)
Let's go for like a Taupau or someone huge like that, someone who can lead our pack from the front

i like your thinking re Taupau but their effectiveness is only maximised when they are in tandem with a relentless backer upper who is always looking for the pop pass. We havent had any one like that in years and even though some of our forwards can pop a pass, theres almost always no one there in support. And most of the time when we do pop a pass its before the advantage line, not through it. Those types of players seem like a distant memory now for the Warriors.

I used to think that the Warriors problem was that we didn't have the cattle to push for a premiership, however in the last two years I've changed this as I believe we aren't coached well enough.
I think we need a new coach, or to try something different.
Players like Kodi, Chanel and RTS will be damaging from broken play or an offload, yet we rarely see that.
We seem to have such an issue with structure, support play and running lines. The players have to take some responsibility for the performances but I believe we won't get better as the coaching is not good enough, so even having a Taupau, we're gunna need to change our tactics or our style

Does anyone follow Denan Kemp on Facebook? He's got a page called The Locker Room - he's a bit of a funny bugger, takes the piss alot but has awesome interviews with current and past players, and also has a lot of analysis of games and different points of interest. He's actually pretty well informed imo.
He's pointed out various things (like how a try has been scored because of the work that players are doing off of the ball - running decoys or running along side a ball carrier as a support/off load option) and I've though shit - we NEVER see the Warriors boys do things like this.
Worth a follow if you're on Facebook!

Let's be real, who is going to choose Auckland over Sydney or sunny Brisbane unless you're originally from there or are getting paid double?

No wonder we have to target kiwis

Need to get a bunch of guys willing to bust their gut for an opportunity. Plenty of those on the fringes. Could name a whole team of them.

Both our grand final runs were based around good value buys coinciding with the rise of juniors more than major recruitment purchases.

I can’t say I’m surprised, and I’m fine with it.
Kearney should be blooding our youngsters for the next two games while looking for fringe players from QRL & NSWRL to make up a few numbers. We’re f**ked for props, there are a minimum of 56 running around in the two above competitions, surely 3 of the best would be willing to give Auckland a go

Lachlan Timms
Jaimin Jolliffe
Jordan Grant

There's others, but you wanted 3 and these guys immediately sprung to mind.

Yeah I want to see us invest in youth, because going after the big guys wont work unless they are Kiwis, or the Warriors are looking good on the field. Sign a couple fringe NRL gagging for a shot, forwards thanks. With Blair and Green in their last seasons (Hopefully), should be pretty ready to sign a beast or two.

Keep the money in the bank, players fall out of favour at clubs every week. Pick up a rebound guy or 2 if they are what we need.

Couldn't agree more.
Any guys you see that fit the mould?
I think we've done decent in the past, and I think this year Lachlan Burr has been amazing for what we would of paid for him (considering he probably is paid a quarter of what Blair was signed on).

There's a lot of raw talent in both QLD Cup and NSW Cup.

The downside from our POV is that second row looks a bit thin even in reserves and most of the hookers are already failed NRL hookers.

Lachlan Timms for sure. Contracted to Dragons next year but not getting a look in. Probably the best prop in NSW Cup. Big metres, post contact metres, really good support player. Just a really strong all around game.

Jaimin Jolliffe was with the Sharks but now plays for the Jets. Aggressive old fashioned prop, doesn't have an offload or a fancy step, just runs straight up and down all day. Only 22 so still has time.

Jordan Grant. Plays for the Dolphins, 25yo. f**king beast, no idea why he hasn't had a look at the NRL. Maybe he's just one of those players who looks great in QLD/NSW Cup but no further? Breaks tackles, offloads the ball, makes tackles, 190cm snd 110kg, post contact metres, averages 150+ per game. Dolphins are my local team though so I'm probably bias to a degree.

Mawene Hiroti 20yo outside back at Souths. This guy is FAST. Originally from New Plymouth. Inexperienced so might not be an immediate upgrade but he's NRL quality no doubt and FAST.

Speaking of South's, Billy Brittain could be worth a look. 25 years old, has played a couple games for Souths but will be stuck behind Cook for some time. A George Gatis/Ian Henderson level signing. Solid all around hooker.

Bailey Simonsson is one I'd love to steal from the Raiders. Former All Blacks 7's player who played a few games this year. With Cotric, Croker, BJ, Rapana on the edges he might find his options limited.
