Why would someone apologise to the internet? I'm not sure I am following.
Well, if Pou Pou and I were in love, we wouldn't ever have to say sorry to each other (according to Ali McGraw). So, for example, if I was Ryan and Pou Pou was Ali (Jenny was her character's name). If Pou Pou was Jenny and she said "I reckon there's no one more needy and with less ability than the mentally ill" (knowing that poor Ryan was a mental health clinician and that he had had a brother who was mentally ill and drowned in the surf at Palm Beach), then Jenny (Pou Pou) wouldn't need to say sorry. Because they are in love, you see? I know, it was a silly movie. I know Pou Pou and I aren't in love (well, I'm not), but I'm just wondering if the internet has a similar rule. Is it justified for Jenny (Pou Pou) to say "Oh, don't be silly, Ryan; we're on the internet, I don't need to say I'm sorry"?
