Your post read as if you are hoping Too' is out injured. I'm sure that's not how you meant it, but that's why it came across as strange.

God no, I wouldn't wish that upon him. To'o is too good to lose. It has been reported that he may have been injured.

People really need to cut this dynasty crap, we haven't won anything

The potential is there though, I would definitely be using that to try and convince kids to stay. The fact is the dogs are shit and we are very young team who just won the minor premiership by 5 points. It’s our best selling point when we know the dogs will offer more money and spine positions, play in the spine for a bottom four club or where you can for a top four club. They might think the best thing is to take the money and the spine spots or they might think playing behind a weak dogs pack that still needs a hooker and another half( that’s if they can bring in Staines and Burton) might really hurt their careers.

The dogs team might have a lot of money to spend but the only constant on their spine has been Foran when fit. The other three spots have been revolving doors for guys who just aren’t good enough for the spine. They need a whole new spine and that still hasn’t addressed the shithouse forward pack, it’s a really unattractive prospect.

That is it. You have to sell the club to any recruit as the Dogs or WT will lay out their plans. Ivan and co will lay out that we plan to stay up the top of the ladder.

That is how recruitment works

That is a strange wish.

I think she means to make the best of a bad situation (To'o injured) rather than hoping he is injured to fit Burton in. At least I hope not.

For the thread in general. Honestly I'm pretty cynical when it comes to player managers these days. Say we all come to agree with @betcats and @franklin2323 (I don't particularly disagree anyway there's very good points on both sides) you've still got Mr 6% with his hand out advising the player on what's best or his career < Read "best for managers bank account".

In a final against the sharpest backline in the known world? I have my doubts.

Unless Ivan has been saving Burton as some kind of secret weapon since he's been killing it at centre in training etc. I'd say 100% what @The_Frog says here.

Such a weird discussion to have gone for several pages. I doubt anyone here or at the club wants Burton to go. It certainly doesn't appear that there's much more we could do to keep him though. We're having an unbelievable season and the guys in his potential positions are all playing incredibly well. Our halves have 40 something try assists between them this year, you don't push past players going that well.

The basket case Dogs are offering cash and a starting spot. We're offering a pathway to a position in whats shaping up to be an elite dynasty with his mates. Theres an argument to be made for both options. What anyone here would choose is irrelevant.

If he goes he goes. What on earth could possibly be done about it?

Nothing to be done. Sounds like the club is doing it's best and the players will make their decisions.

I think their parents being involved is a good thing for us, it will limit the amount of influence the managers have on them.

No I'm implying it is about money if he goes to the Dogs, they offer nothing other than shiny gold and a starting spot. The Tigers have a premiership winning coach and a decent roster. That could be a career move. Go to the Roosters or the Storm. That's a career move.

And I’m saying it can be about more than one thing. Money might be a factor, but so could playing regular FG, so could going to a club with a coach you know. There’s been a lot of praise given to Barrett this year, maybe Burton figures he’d be good for his game?

Most of the talk is about finding him a position other than the halves. Although he could still be a half for us if there’s a major injury to Luai.

I hope we keep Naden. To me he reflects all that is good seen in the playing group.
Agree, him, Chrichton and Burton. Not too fussed on Staines. 2 hamstring injuries in a couple of months, chronic jaw problem - lot's of risk for someone that has only played about 100 mins of NRL. What we saw looked very good, but might be a flash in the pan too.

Daine Laurie is legit. Great footwork and ball playing, he'd be a constant threat from fullback. He went really close to breaking the dogs line up the middle a few times on Saturday. It would be really nice to hang onto all of them for another year or two.
