No look since end of 2019 on that 17 I posted

Edwards resigned - Probably stayed the same

Staines - Started 2020 on development deal. Even on $300k is 4 x more now

Crichton - would be on less then $200k now. So even $600k is 3 x his deal

Naden- due but we should get him cheaper now

To'o - re-signed through the season. Easily could of doubled his deal

Luai - rumours were Gus re-signed on $300k. Should cost us double this time

Cleary - 2020 was his 1st year as a million dollar player. Before that probably $400k

JFH - no change

Api - $500k. Manly were chipping in $150k or so. We have full freight for 2021

Martin - was on a rookie deal. Would be $400k or so now. So atleast double

Kikau - no change

Capewell - $300k

Yeo- now SOO player. Likely Captain should get $100k rise

Leinu - Rookie deal will atleast double

So plenty of guys on rookie deals now on normal money which pushes others out

Simple stuff

And if you disregard history you keep making the same mistakes again and again. Mistakes are not the problem, not learning from them is.

I agree, but if you have your head turned always to the past. The present and the future is not appreciated.

I think the past needs respect, but you must not be consumed by it.

Gus I think said it well by saying respect the past......I say but don't live in the past.

Thanks Franklin fo doing ballpark figure sums. You can easily see where the money is going, and has gone.
Definitely, most of these young guys were on simple coin, but after this breakout season, they all deserve a pay rise, trouble is the whole squad cannot split what jimmy tamou was on, as he was the only guy going elsewhere, so in terms of sauce leaving that makes 2 salaries that can get split, then theres laurie and the parra players we are still paying and those who are already well paid like nate, api and kiks probably aren't expecting a bump up, and those who have already signed like martin also don't require it either.
This whole salary cap squeeze is happening everywhere but we are feeling it the most coz we have high demand on talented squad.
Seriously anyone who thinks we are keeping the same squad, is kidding themselves..
If you can rank each player on performance/pay packet and position.
Jimmy T, Josh Sauce, and Tetevano are probably are the guys most likely to move on
It like nickleback, its music, but it sux

It looks worse because of the stage of career the guys were in. Someone like Martin getting $400k or so isn't too bad. What makes it so bad is the $150k or so he was on. If he was onto his 3rd or 4th year and on $300k then it goes further

I'm more worried about the team vibe. You know, that thing that carried us through 2020. Hope fully, it's still there. Good to see Jerome at training on day 1 ..I'm sure he didn't have to be there yet after doing Origin camp.

Josh mansour has one year left to run on his present contract [ I believe] and he was advised he would be a reserve for 2021 and could look around, he was not punted so if he gets a new contract elsewhere we should not have to pay any freight to his new club, is that correct?

I'm not suggesting anyone drives or buys a car without an engine. The club is not doing that.

I looked back to 12 months ago when Kilkenny was bemoaning the loss of Blake, RCG and Katoa. In fact made mention of the fact that Api was no better than Katoa.

So there was basis for my post.

You lost me Alice. I thought you knew me better. Really sad you feel this way.

For the record I was bemoaning the fact Gus re-signed RCG on a big money long term deal. I was the most vocal on here dead set against it. Panther Daz I’m sure would back me up on that as he was in my corner at the time.

I never at any stage made any adverse comments about Api I simply made reference to the fact I believed Wade Egan and Sione Katoa were worth preserving with prior to us signing Api.

Anyway don’t let the truth get in the way of your misguided recollections.

Your views around my supposed negativity really gets up my nose. All I ever tried to do was offer support to Egan and Katoa when they didn’t have to many friends on her rightly or wrongly.

Without wanting to re-write history my wife and own children gave it to me at the time I posted my views around RCG expressing my opinion he wasn’t worth the money so don’t you dare suggest otherwise because you are way off the mark in respect of one RCG.

I gave my opinion that's all. I'm not demanding that you (nor anyone else) agrees with me.

I get called a flag waver quite often. I also get called a sheep and an ostrich whose' buried their head into the sand.

Not sure why people are throwing a lot of shade on you mate. I don’t always agree with you, but you always explain why you feel the way you do and are always pretty open to debate on the topic.

No one can certainly question your loyalty. Personally I think you are a valued member of the forum.
