Not sure why people are throwing a lot of shade on you mate. I don’t always agree with you, but you always explain why you feel the way you do and are always pretty open to debate on the topic.

No one can certainly question your loyalty. Personally I think you are a valued member of the forum.

I wasn't throwing shade on anyone.

I was illustrating a point. I even went back to check my facts before posting.

This is like the fable the emperors new (bloody) clothes.

Thanks.

I think of all people I thought Alice may have had my back given she has been around my posts on here for a long time.

It just guts me when even the long term posters on here suggest I am anything other than 100% committed to the cause.

Jane has been in here for 10 minutes so I can accept her suggesting I am a negative Nellie, but for Alice to do so really sucks and frankly makes me wonder why I even bother coming on here.

When we have locked horns or my long term issues with Herbert I never take offence I love the debate, the banter, the differences of opinion. This forum is so invaluable for our fan base.

This is just plain silly.......

I can't be bothered re-explaining myself again.

You have my support too. Jayne and Alice are just flag wavers.

I gave my opinion that's all. I'm not demanding that you (nor anyone else) agrees with me.

I get called a flag waver quite often. I also get called a sheep and an ostrich whose' buried their head into the sand.

Alice you made statements.

You made statements around me that were factually incorrect.

You alluded to me being negative, I never ever been negative about our club in my 50 years is supporting the Panthers.

The views I have expressed in recent times are not negative they are just factual.

Whether you like it or accept it our current situation around our roster for 2021 is a mess and very disappointing.

Given you called me out for my supposed views around RCG and Waqa Blake maybe go back and do your homework. Particularly in respect of RCG I think you may just find there were two posters on here who were against the RCG big money re-signing I was one and the other was Panther Daz.

Your incapeble of letting things be.

I've given my opinion. I'm not changing it at this stage either.

I'm not demanding that you agree with my opinion.

I'm also not going to repeat myself.

If you have a problem with that......I'm sorry I can't help you.

Its kind of funny.

Over the years I have had really good contacts within the club, you don’t want to reveal your contacts because they give you information in confidence.

As I revealed to Murray in recent times my contacts are basically exhausted while in times gone past I had a personal friends on the management team, coaching staff and training staff I don’t have them any more since Ivan came back. My last remaining major source was with the clubs major sponsor but he is now working elsewhere so as I acknowledged I know nothing now more than anyone else.

Im just a fan now and to get the likes of Alice who should no better to question my views is basically offensive and disappointing.

I do have a problem and yes you have lost me as someone who I previously respected.

So your demanding that I mustn't question your viewpoint, because you find that basically offensive and disappointing.

Just as I thought.

Your obviously unable to cope with anyone who has a different point of view than yours ?

Not at all. It is not about opinions. Yours is equal to mine.

You will never ever find me guilty of questioning the right of someone to offer a different opinion to mine.

Just don’t put words in my mouth.

You made statements which were factually incorrect so therefore nothing to with opinions.

Do your research and find the evidence and get back to me on the statements you said about my views in RCG.

Anyway it doesn’t matter at the end of the day.

I really don’t care whether your opinion is more worthy than mine. Not the issue.

For everyone on here let’s just hope we get some positive news before Xmas. I think the fans are deserving is some positive news.

I think most of us remember the sentiments of your posts referred to over the past couple of pages. Unfortunately some people can misinterpret posts - it comes from having a narrow perspective on things (right/wrong, negative/positive, flag-waver/club-knocker).

Anyway, 1 of the lessons in life is that there is no point arguing with someone who knows they're right mate.

NRL transfer news: Panthers gun Zane Tetevano a target of Leeds Rhinos
Penrith’s rivals continue to target the Panthers’ talented roster with no signs of the free agency assault easing. See who’s going, going, gone.

Penrith could lose a third grand final star with forward Zane Tetevano being targeted by English Super League giants Leeds.

Well-placed UK sources have told The Daily Telegraph the Rhinos are preparing a three-year offer for Tetevano worth $1.5m.

It will become the big payday Tetevano has sought for the past decade.

The Leeds deal is around $150,000 more each season than Tetevano’s current contract at the Panthers. It is the equivalent to marquee player money for England.

Front-rower Tetevano, who came off the bench in this year’s 26-20 grand final loss to Melbourne, still has another season remaining at Penrith. But, there would be a push – should he agree to the deal – to join Leeds immediately.

The Panthers have lost grand final prop James Tamou to Wests Tigers while winger Josh Mansour, while still having a year left at Penrith, has been told to look elsewhere.

Matt Burton and Daine Laurie will leave Penrith for Canterbury and Wests respectively after next season while the club is desperately attempting to retain young star Stephen Crichton, off contract after 2021.

At age 30, Tetevano feels the Leeds offer could be his final chance to secure a contract worth around $500,000 a season.

Penrith officials have been told of Leeds’ interest.

Tetevano had a strong 2020 season, playing 19 games, 17 off the bench, averaging 96 run metres a game and 15 tackles. He averaged 31 minutes a game.

The key issue now is whether Penrith release Tetevano a year early, given the club has already lost one prop in Tamou.

Penrith is negotiating a contract extension with another prop, Spencer Leniu, whose deal expires after next season. If the club can retain Leniu they may consider an early exit for Tetevano.

Should Leniu switch clubs, he is being courted by Canterbury, then Penrith may tell Tetevano he must honour his deal in 2021.

Panthers coach Ivan Cleary is wary of allowing another prop to leave given Tamou has already departed.

The Daily Telegraph contacted Penrith officials seeking clarification on the club’s position with Tetevano, with general manager of rugby league, Matt Cameron, replying: “Not sure it’s appropriate to comment on it at this point in time. Thanks for your interest.”

English clubs are short on front-rowers and may target more big in coming months.

Attracting NRL players to Super League has been difficult though due to a reluctance to travel to England through COVID.

Leeds, coached by Richard Agar, ran fifth this year in Super League.

PENRITH’S PREDICAMENT

GONE

Trent Barrett

The Panthers assistant, credited with reinvigorating Penrith’s attack, has joined Canterbury as their new head coach on a three-year deal. Although he signed in July, Barrett remained in Penrith and helped them to a grand final. But the Bulldogs have been actively targeting some of his former players.

James Tamou

Penrith’s inspirational captain has signed a two-year deal to join Wests Tigers from 2021, leaving a huge hole to fill in both experience and their starting lineup.

Jack Hetherington

The fiery forward has signed a two-year deal with an option for a third year to link with coach Trent Barrett at Canterbury after successfully securing a release from the Panthers.

Caleb Aekins

The back-up fullback, 23, will join Canberra on a one-year deal, following 12 NRL appearances for Penrith over three seasons.

GOING

Matt Burton

The talented half has signed a two-year deal to join Canterbury from 2022 with an option in his favour for a third season. The Bulldogs haven’t given up hope of securing Burton for the 2021 season.

Daine Laurie

The 21-year-old has signed a two-year contract to join Wests Tigers from 2022. He will get first crack at the Tigers’ fullback spot if he can gain a release from his Panthers development deal for 2021.

In
DEMAND

Stephen Crichton

The management of the 20-year-old has lodged an official counter offer with Penrith to retain the rising star, to the tune of $750,000 a season. The Panthers are desperate to retain the young centre but may struggle with salary cap space as rivals circle him.

Spencer Leniu

The 20-year-old prop has attracted interest from a number of clubs, including St George Illawarra and Canterbury. Penrith want to lock in the local junior long-term and Tetevano’s potential departure could help their cause.

Obviously take it with a grain of salt, but this says Crichton wants 750k. If that’s anywhere near accurate I’d sadly have to tell him on your bike..

Paying huge money for centres is a disaster waiting to happen.

This is becoming a circus.

If Crichton isn't going to be a fullback, he can take what we've offered him or he can go. This is exactly what gets clubs into salary cap trouble.

We carry on about our depth of talent, well either bank on it or sign the bloke for 750k and pray for a return on investment.

Also, I wouldn't want to lose Tetevano but I can understand if the money is too good to refuse. We're looking very thin up front as it is.
