Mansour doesn’t cost us much under the cap. He’ll receive the full 200k long service exemption in 2021, so let’s say he’s on 450k he now only costs us 250k under the cap.

Let’s expand from there. Another player would at minimum cost us 110k, so if we paid 100k of Mansours salary to play at the Tigers, we might only free up as little as 40k.

Of course we don’t know exactly what he’s on, but it’s rumoured to be around 450k-500k. But shedding his salary won’t actually free up much space. Especially if we pay him to play elsewhere.
All we need to do is hire another experience 8 year + player to qualify for the cap exemption. And I'm pretty sure it's 100K not 200K.

A solid pre season could well see salmon in the centers. He is young and hiny111 might fill us in.But came through to fast. The young culture at Penrith will suit him .i see him being a sneaky successful buy

Well Eels cut him. So you have signed the fish that we reject.....

My opinion on him is he defends at first grade level. He has a good step and feet. Great support player and strong. He had his best run last season while Brown was out but just as he began to look good Brown come back. He handled himself ok everyone he played without setting the world on fire.
He looks like a steady style 5/8. But more likely a centre or maybe a ball playing lock might be his go. He is a big kid. Tall and would be close to 100kg.
Handy project to work with. Can fill in if needs and isn't costing a lot. Young and may come good. At worse a solid back up.

May got the start due to ball playing. Salmon ticks those boxes also tall like Ivan likes

It has to be accumulated at the club seeking the exemption. Eg, Sauce qualifies for it with us, but at a new club he is on year one.

$0.2 million – Veteran and Developed Player Allowance for eligible players who were either developed by the Club prior to becoming NRL players and / or have been a Top 30 player for at least 8 years at the Club or have been a Top 30 player for at least 10 years across the game.

Based on this Yeo and Whare both qualify from 2021 so if Josh leaves the money can be utilised by both. Josh will meet the 10 year across the game requirement after 2021 so any one who signs him gets a the benefit after 2021 assuming he gets a two or three year deal which would also depend on other long serving players at the club he signs with.

I see Salmon turns 22 next month so he is older Dylan Brown by almost 18 months.

I was under impression Salmon didn’t play NRL in 2020, thought his 20 or so games were in 18/19 seasons?

Apparently, Buzz Rothfield was pissed of when the Eels poached him from the Sharks back in 2018 for what it’s worth.

Yeo works for us considering he will be up next to be signed

The Dragons have pulled the pin on Matt Lodge. I wonder if we are keen? Broncos paying 1.6m of his contract.

I’m really on the fence on Matt Lodge.
