You were saying....

The club knows better than me, never suggested otherwise. All I was suggesting was Salmon well down the pecking order at the Eels, including being behind the much maligned Will Smith (who I’ve always thought was a decent back up player), and released by the Eels is not someone I would been interested in. I would have thought were there were better options out there even young players who haven’t yet debuted in the NRL. Wish him all the best, hope he makes every post a winner and does enough to kick start his NRL career. At the end of the day it looks like we still may need a few more Jaemon Salmons given we look in need of a few players to fill out our roster.

Salmon on a one year deal, on minimum wage is a decent bet. I don’t see a lot of downside.

Definitely not a world beater, but someone I’ll watch with interest.

Ticks the boxes Ivan used as to why May played centre. Big enough to play edge. A natural half certainly plenty of options to use him

You can't use last year to tell the full story. Will Smith likely was the better option with no games under his belt.

Cheap guys who can play a few positions are going to be the perfect guys to fill out the squad

Hey for the record guys, someone posted a list of off contract players for this year, i mentioned Jaemon Salmon, Sorenson, and Benji as the worthy picks for panthers depth, there was one other can't remember

Edit: Leihavia Pulu

If there was an award for the greatest one year signing in NRL history surely Amos would win hands down. His season in 2004 was pretty amazing. Wasn’t too bad for the Roosters either although his best season was definitely the one with us.

That’s what I’m worried about. Salmon will have an amazing year for us, only to sign with someone else. Probably the Roosters ala Amos

And Will Smith was for the most part selected to fill in at dummy half so I understand he wasn’t really like for like but Will as I recall did fill in a couple of games 5/8 which is probably Salmons best position arguably. (When brown was out injured)

I'd be ok with that, i wasn't with Amos originally, but since watching Capewells back end of the year, if anyone poached him, I'd just be happy for the guy, i suppose its the mentality of Youth Vs Codger, now knowing more about players, salary caps, the clubs i get when players are eith e r moved on swapped or look for the offer..
I think most struggling clubs will be upset when a local gem kicks on, when we have SOOO many now that id be fine that someone like Jaemon who was a Sharks junior, kicked on totally fine

I cannot say the same for JAC, Paps and Teddy if i was a tigers fan ..... sheesh heartattack material
