They can have him, if it means we snag Joseph Manu :stuck_out_tongue_closed_eyes:

We attempted to lure Joseph Manu our way when he was last off contract at a time when he was in and out of the top 17. Didn’t quite seal the deal and he will be a Rooster for life now, quality player who you could argue is as good if not better, or more consistent, than Latrell Mitchell.

What a position to be in, Mitchell on one side and Manu on the other. Vastly underrated winger in Daniel Tupou on one side and the evergreen Brett Morris on the other. I am not sure how you compete against such quality three quarters and the other 13 players.

No disrespect to our three quarters but comparing the above to our best current lineup of Mansour, Whare, Naden & To’o it is a total mismatch. We have had an issue with the quality of our outside back’s for some time and it was never addressed and a factor in why we were not quite able to go to the next level despite making the semi finals for three years consecutively under Anthony Griffin.

i remember when it was mentioned on here. Few of us were all for it, most didn’t think he was better then what we had. There’s been some beauty player opinions on here, myself included.

Phenomenal player. Only gonna get better too.

I think the Roosters would let Mitchell walk before Manu.

Correct. If he leaves the Dragons there is only one destination the Sydney Roosters.

If they wan’t him they will get him, and he will be only too happy to go there.
Getting boring having the top teams staying on top, worse than the EPL. should be a rule where If you finish top four 2 years in a row your not allowed to sign anyone from another club unless you drop out of the top 4 for at least 2 years. Outrageous I know but we need to spread the talent, like that said 20 years ago with the salary cap (which hasn't really happened)

Gould at the time made a real play for Joseph Manu, given he was playing out of position on the wing, in and out of the team as a youngster. The Roosters were too smart and we didn’t seal the deal, our loss but we had a crack.

It is what it is.

I totally understand your comparison with the EPL but at the end of the day, aside from what Leicester City did in 2016, there is more chance of the Gold Coast Titans winning our competition than Southampton or 15 others side winning the EPL.

Still feel for the Leicester City fan who cashed out on his 100 pound bet on them to win the EPL with six rounds to go. Instead of $33,000 pounds he settled for something substantially less, can’t recall the exact figure, he still won but it was a lot less than he the figure above had he had the stomach to go the distance. I would have probably cashed out too for the record.

TPA's are the issue. Top teams get more exposure and as a result more TPA's but yep it is getting that way

How many GF's haven't had Roosters or Storm in it since NRL started? For a so called even comp it isn't working

Since the NRL started we’ve had 98, 03, 05, 11, 14, 15 without Storm and Roosters

However I think every team in the comp has been in the grand final since the NRL began besides the Titans so it’s still pretty good and is a lot better than a lot of top sporting leagues in the world, and take it from a former EPL fan that league is abysmal and so is every top soccer league in Europe, money has destroyed that game and the competitive parity is non existent.

Also even though Storm and Roosters have been in a lot of Grand Finals, how many have they lost?

2000 - Roosters lose to Brisnane
2003 - Roosters lose to Penrith
2004 - Roosters lose to Bulldogs
2006 - Storm lose to Brisbane
2008 - Storm lose to Manly
2010 - Roosters lose to Dragons
2016 - Storm lose to Cronulla
2018 - Storm lose to Roosters

Not to mention Storm have 2 of their premierships rightfully taken off them (07 and 09)

So yea it could be a lot worse, I do agree TPAs are stupid though and are getting worse, they should not be in the salary cap at all in my opinion.
