On ya MJC. Would this be the Under 20s player Staggs hinted at?
Finally a post worth reading. Thanks for that.

I think one could be an under 20's player, I have a feeling that the other is a first grade player. I know about the first but the second is a complete guess.

So is it three backs we may be getting, Cutherson, the twenty's player and another who is an NRL player?

The Dyldam Parramatta Eels have today announced the appointment of a club Chief Medical Officer, along with the creation of two specialised roles within the football department.

Dr Louis Shidiak MBBS FRACS (Orth) FAOA B. Appl. Sc. (Physio) has been appointed as the Blue and Gold’s Chief Medical Officer, commencing at the club from the 2016 pre-season.

Along with Dr Shidiak’s appointment, the Eels have appointed strength coach Jarrod Wade and contact coach Brett O’Farrell to begin working with the club’s NRL squad from November.

The two new roles in the Eels’ football department will extend the specialised skill and power development of its playing roster and complement the existing training and coaching staff, headed up by Physical Performance Manager, Paul Devlin.

“Revamping our structure inside the football department, as well as at the executive management level, is all part of our ongoing aim to ensure that our processes, governance and performances are always at the highest level,” said Acting CEO John Boulous.

“Dr Shidiak has an incredible wealth of experience that will help us look at player safety, player welfare, medical processes and reporting in a cohesive way across the club,” Boulous said.

“It’s also vital for future success that the club looks right across professional sport to find the best candidates to work with our playing roster, and I’m excited to see what Brad Arthur and his team can achieve for this club.”

Throughout 2015, the Eels have also introduced internal structures to formalise player involvement and engagement in issues of player welfare and education, including the Welfare and Education Committee, comprised of Welfare and Education Manager Matt Francis, player representative David Gower, PNRL Director Geoff Gerard, Acting CEO John Boulous, Head of Football Operations Daniel Anderson, Luke Burt from the Eels’ coaching staff, Eels Career Coach Dean Feeney, Dr Jioji Ravulo of the University of Western Sydney, and the NRL’s Paul Heptonstall.

The Eels are also pleased to announce that Joseph Grima will be head coach of the Eels’ partner club, the Wentworthville Magpies NSW Cup side, while club legend Luke Burt has been appointed head coach of the Eels’ Holden Cup team. Video analyst Craig Crossman and Head Trainer Craig Sultana have also been added to the Eels’ NRL coaching staff.

In one sentence he has apparently asked for a release (think ya actually Joseph) and the next the only quote in the article is BA saying he has stated he wants to stay

To be fair to the ridiculous, vague, non-informative article that is doing its best to provide drama and suspense without actually telling us one single factual thing ... he does say he may be "considering" asking for a release NOT that he has asked for a release.

The article is just the lowest full of journalism ...

Canberra are preparing to make audacious plays for Parramatta's Junior Paulo and Wests Tigers' Martin Taupau should the powerful forwards come onto the open market.

The Eels are PREPARING to make audacious plays for the Trbojevic brothers SHOULD they come onto the market. That statement is not false.

Paulo and Taupau are signed to their respective clubs until the end of next season but it is understood both are considering requesting early releases to continue their careers elsewhere.

It is understood both Trbojevic brothers are considering requesting early releases ... can't really fact-check that nugget!

However, both clubs are under salary cap pressure and the pair could potentially earn considerably more on the open market.

Manly is under salary cap pressures for next year and the brothers could earn considerably more on the open market. Absolute truth to that! Could be said about any team, and any up and coming player.

Parramatta powerbrokers are aware of the interest from the Green Machine but are hoping Paulo will be a long-term player for the blue and golds. "I've spoken to Junior about upgrading and extending him out," said Eels coach Brad Arthur. "He's given every indication that's what he wants to do."

So the only actual fact (quote) contradicts the main argument of the story. What to believe?? Oh the dilemma!

FoxSports are talking today about reggie players have their breakout season:-

Eels

Kieran Moss — Signed with the Eels on a one-year deal, the Panthers NSW Cup fullback has speed to burn. Injury kept him from making his NRL debut in 2015 but acting as Michael Gordon’s understudy in 2016, the 22-year-old carries the nickname ‘Ferrari’ — which should give you an indication of what to expect from him.

I am hearing that JUNIOR is going nowhere and that we are still to officially announce 2 centres. One we all know about (Gutherson) and the other is yet to be mentioned by name on here but will be shortly announced.

There is a Facebook group called the Parramatta Fanatics who yesterday posted that Junior had officially signed a 3 year deal with Canbra.

I left them a comment.

Good to see us starting to spend some serious money in the football department. Finally bringing us in line with the more successful clubs.

Injuries and the ability to pick your top 17 every week will usually determine the teams in positions 4-8.

We just need some luck and we'll be right.

I think the conditioning staff can be a massive plus here.

The "collision" coach is obviously the new politically correct way of saying wrestling coach.

I think most of us would prefer to see the game played with less wrestle but there's no doubt we have been poor at controlling the ruck and that it has lost us plenty of games.

I think the biggest key to next year will lie with beau Scott and choc.

If those guys play near their best, and both stay healthy, we will have genuine depth and some very strong players missing out. Everyone will build on what they do. Our pack will be able to dominate, and our halves (perhaps our biggest asset) will get a chance to do their thing.

If they both struggle with form it will be problematic. For a start, they will be taking two spots and some good players will be at wenty. It won't help morale. If they don't perform in attack we will have a pretty small backhoe and will be massively reliant on junior and mannah. The halves will likely suffer accordingly. We will go from having great depth to relying on the blokes we are hoping are up and comers or back ups.

Really hoping that the change of scenery for scott, and the lifting of family pressure on choc with the recent good news he had about the pregnancy, will help them be at their best.

My expectations are, we'll likely get more of the same. Neither particularly note worthy in attack but defensively a lot of work that doesn't steal the lime light. I expect Watmo to keep turning up when we need to be direct but to be vicious in defence.

Perhaps I expect a bit more from Scott, more for the benefit that Foran provides him, he'll score a try or two, but we need him to rattle in defence.

I expect the backs to be scoring the points are we have seen in recent years.

I hope we see a shut out or two, if Watmo and Scott deliver defensively and to a lesser extent Foran, then when the luck goes against us, it wont be automatic points. This is the weakness I hope to see reduced.

Parra scored points through clunky halves and unrealiable edge forwards and outside backs. If we get value from Gutherson, Gordon, Moss and mysterious backs 1,2,3 and the three key defenders do there job, which I expect, the offence of Scott and Watmo would be fruit for the sideboard.
