Yeah I agree roboshark.
I've seen Brad Murray play; he is a definite star. I don't know what our NYC halves make-up will be next year though, with Marmin Barba also having been reportedly signed.....maybe Barba 6 and Murray 7? Barba interchange?
Wait and see I guess; our NYC team is going to look a sh*t load different next year, from all the young stars we have signed....

Unusual that the eels have to buy juniors....although teams like my mob keep taking all of yours :)
:)
Yeah this time we decided to poach them from clubs that can't raise their own
We are the new a**holes of the game; we are taking the clubs' stars who can't raise their own away from them. I don't think many clubs will like us.....but we will probably end up being the new Melbourne Storm if we keep all these juniors and develop them well (salary cap aside :sarcasm: )

Ok so now we are apparently chasing Colin Best

See Here

Meanwhile speculation about Quade Cooper switching to league is firming and...interestingly enough the Storm and now the Knights have been revealed to have made previous plays for him.

See Here

And this is the Tele's take on our chances of nabbing Cooper, also positive.

And finally, a cup of water at the very least has been poured on those awful Ricky Stuart rumours. He is NSW's problem for the moment.

According to the 'other site';
Peter Sterling has recently (tonight) announced we have signed up-coming Roosters NYC halfback star,
BRAD MURRAY.
This is a bit strange considering we have also reportedly signed another NYC halfback; Marmin Barba (Ben Barba's younger brother).
This along with those other reported signings (that Aku guy from the Doggies, etc); looks like our depth and juniors are about to face a massive surge forward.
Doubts we are not building to the future gentlemen?
Looks more and more like we are trying to copy the Melbourne Storm; by a sh*t load of good juniors, develop them and turn them into NRL stars.
Looks like our depth in terms of halfbacks, depending on which 'marquee' halfback we sign, will be perfectly fine for next year.

Marmin Barba plays fullback

Great news Forty20!
Also, thanks Twizzle; I heard he played halfback off someone at first, but ok. I guess that probably means Ken Sio will either play wing or stay in Wenty?

pretty sure he is a few years younger than Sio

I would see him being signed as a utility player like 5/8 or fullback, they seem to be interchangeable nowdays

Ken Sio will be in our fulltime squad next year.

Yes - because our U20s have managed to win a whopping 3 games this season. I can't see why we would need to buy any juniors

Actually - you can have all of those guys if you want?

We would get better mileage out of Lee Te Maari IMO, since he is both younger and has also served his good-behaviour parole with Wenty.

Since we are in somewhat of a rich vein of form in regards to signing rival clubs NYC players, does anyone know of any of the leading bookend prospects?

In lieu of a top-notch half (pending Quade Cooper) the club has actually done well to shore up depth and talent in other key areas with an eye to the future as well.

just on robosharks comments..

our club more than anyone in the league have in the past 3 seasons have been raped and pileaged of player talent so much so that the cupboard in the under 20's squad is very bare and all but 3 0r 4 players probably wouldn't make any other side in the comp.

Believe it or not, but we do actually have some genuinely good footballers in the team. We have some duds as well it would seem. It's also a very very young team. Sio, O'Hanlon, Loko, O'brien (maybe) and Terepo (maybe) are all pretty bloody good IMO.

so who is it that makes the decision on buying junior talent? Rocket? If it is he seems to be doing an ok job in building the side back up after Daisy and Hages destroyed them

I don't believe our recruitment in junior talent has been up to scratch since Grant Jones left, that is solely Rockets baby and no one else.

no i agree it's been highly ordinary to non existent in recent years, however it seems the lighbulb has finally gone on and they have worked out we can't only rely on Matts and Ball players stepping up

Brad Murray looks good to me. Not as good as Chad Townsend, but very good just the same..ie from what I have seen of him...
