Pearce, Anasta and Myles will certainly be on huge money so something's got to give. It looks like the Chooks are choosing to let their depth suffer which is very un-Brian Smith.

The way I see it we have 3 in Mannah, Poore and Fui. We be a great pick up, but given it's just a twitter rumour I take it with a grain of salt. Poor Boxy will be gutted someone got before him with this rumour.

It's a nice rumour.
Someone actually came out and said that Martin Kennedy announced he was joing the Eels at the Roosters awards night on Wednesday past.

However, as it hasn't appeared anywhere else (not even the papers) it's a bit of an oddity.....

Ideally you'd have the number in your top 17 +1 for depth. So 5.

Mannah, Poore, Moimoi, Webb = 4 NRL quality props. Hindmarsh and Shackleton could also fill in there in case of injury, and then there's the blokes at Wenty who you don't want playing for more than a game here and there.

Another front-rower would be good for depth but we could hardly guarantee him regular first grade, and that happens to be a condition of most big contracts signed these days. Especially if guys have agreed to less money than they could have gotten elsewhere.

It may have been a condition of Mortimer's contract this year; it's certainly common in other professional sports.
