I just hope Morgan doesnt try and hog the ball and go himself. i.e. thinking of his own performance before the team.

However, I am a Morgan fan. May not be better than Tonga but should be heaps cheaper

Morgan will square his shoulders and go more often than Tonga....it's inherent in his game. It's a question of whether he does this when there's an obviously better opportunity outside him.

Nothing wrong with a centre that backs himself, and running is always safer than passing.

And what's with fetishising centres who pass often? Do we criticise edge forwards who run the ball rather than passing to the centre? They're not halves, they are out wide, and their job is to tackle and run the ball. Any passing skills are a bonus.

Good centres have passing skills. That's why they cost a lot of money.

Average players like Morgan might have passing skills and yes, they would be a bonus.

The best centres win the most one-on-one contests in attack and defence. Their passing skills only matter when they can commit two defenders.

so you are implying if they are confronted with one defender they should try to beat their man one on one rather then pass it to an unmarked man outside them?
