St George is desperate, and if they have 2014 cap space after signing Benji, then they would likely try and coerce any potential 2015 signings into coming over by 30 June this year. Tonga should just hold firm and sign up with them after 30 June for 2015-16 , it's not like the Dragons are in any bargaining position.

Wouldn't lose a wink of sleep if Tonga was to leave.. All the credit to him that he has got himself fit and back playing solid NRL level footy week in week out. In saying that though for mine he has looked solid and solid only, he has lost his trademark step and speed.

Yes he adds experience but as a pure attacking threat I don't think he has anything over Morgan or Vai for that matter.. Morgan is usually pretty solid defensively too and goes okay in the air.

Um and how exactly do the Dragons have cap space after just signing Benchi for a squillion?

Did they start the year a mill under the cap or some shit?

honestly i'd be upset if Tonga left. He brings that experience in the back line we need especially on Semi's side. With Semi Radradra still getting the grasp of the rules having an experienced Tonga there helps him massively. Tonga has got fit for this season and is paying the club back for handing him a contract when he looked on the scrap heap at Cowboys

I reckon Radrada would drive him to Kograh without a license.
Does Tonga even know he has a winger on the outside and especially someone like Radrada.
I think Morgan would do well in the new team we have. he has good speed.

Sio looked ordinary last year and look at him now

If there is one thing ive noticed about Morgan this year in NSW Cup, it's that sometimes he doesn't even look he his winger, he just goes himself.

This is the type of post I just don't understand.
How much rugby league do you watch?

Tonga IS the reason behind semi radradras massive start to the aeason.
I watched that side very closely the last couple of games and Tonga doesn't stop talking to Semi, it's clear Semi is still learning the game. And it's a massive help for Semi to have Tonga next to him.

You don't need every single player on the team to have exceptional attacking talent, a lot of the times it's about combinations and how players work with each other

I saw one of the training photos on the official site and Semi looked like he was laughing and joking with Vai Toutai. Maybe they were laughing about something Willie Tonga said?

I'll see if there's any clues in the other photos.

The Dragons have been looking to offload Joel Thompson before June 30 (he wants to go back to Canberra). He'll be on quite a bit more coin than Tonga. Simples.

Not that there's necessarily anything in the Tonga rumour.

Defensively you have a great point, obviously having the experience of Tonga there is going to help Semi a great deal and give him confidence. However they aren't going to be a 'combination' for long anyway, this will most likely be Tongas last season regardless. So Semi is going to have to fly the coup sooner than later, he's a big boy now remember?

Also I completely disagree from an attacking point of view.. I don't think Tonga helps his outside man one iota.. As I mentioned he has almost completely lost the ability to get onto his outside man thus drawing in the winger and being able to create room for his winger if Tonga was doing this more often Semi would be just about unstoppable.

Also give Ty Williams a buzz, he would probably still have a job if Willie Tonga had of learnt how to pass him the ball a few years ago.
