That does make alot of sense. There was alot of head scratching done as to why Benji had given up on an NRL deal, plus the accompanying media coin for a relatively small Union contract. Here comes the payday.

It is interesting as Salford were in cap trouble and having to release a few players because of that. Makes sense to get around the cap.

It's a bit like Darren Lockyer trying to pressure the NRL into paying to bring back Karmichael Hunt because he's an AFL player. If tey wouldn't do it for Folau than screw the Broncos.
