I can't believe how lucky I am . I'm always the 999,999th visitor when I log in to this place .
I have 3 messages waiting for me.
The thing I find funny is that back then virtually every poster seemed to hate Brian smith because we never won comps. He was always texting people and using whiteboards and sabotaging local juniors.
Now those same people seem to think those were the golden years.
You were right and they were wrong.
Ricky Stuart record at the Roosters:1 or 2 people couldn't have played a major part in anything bad happening at our club. Especially not coaches - it isn't their responsibility to teach people how to play footy, it is their responsibility to do some other job.
Actually I know plenty. I go looking for information and make an effort to be informed. I even read Wayne Bennett's drivel. It's great that you can share these pearls with us, despite having no clue about strategic management in footy, nor any experience in coaching.
I think so.
Ricky Stuart record at the Roosters:
78 wins from 130 matches (60%), 1 minor premiership, 3 grand finals, 1 premiership
Ricky Stuart record at Parramatta:
5 wins from 24 matches (21%), 1 wooden spoon
I think there's a bit more to a team's results than just who is the coach. In fact I think there's a lot more to it. Wayne Bennett said as much in his book.

It's possible to recognise both the positive and negative in a person.
In my opinion Brian Smith is the most brilliant coach in the history of the game. His teams consistently overachieved, and he consistently developed quality first graders. But the teams always fell at the final hurdle because he refused to sign match winners, or they refused to play for him. He also failed to bring in genuine leaders (often the same personality type as match winners) or when he signed them young he would drive them away as they matured (e.g. Tallis, Lyon).
But none of that detracts from his amazing coaching talent in all other areas.

Because you agree with Pou?I agree totally, with these sentiments Pou and that is why he will never really be considered as a great coach.
I use ad blocker plus.
Chill out Pou! You mustn't have read the whole thing
Although I'm a bit worried now that you do actually believe half the stuff you post :?
Well you know me mate, I'll believe anything. Especially half the stuff I post.
