Who cares who he picked in Sg ball.
Players play for a coach not a scout. If we produce a good player great- But if not we buy one just like every other team.If a player is that good like Hayne im sure blind Freddy could spot him. Its only the average to just above that usually get away.

We have gone $hit cause of injuries and signing established players like MK and B.Smith for too long when they should of been let go. Nolan was here when we let Albert Kelly go too.

When I read the under 20 threads.Guys like stagger and forty 20 mention a few players that look good.Usualy there the ones who end up in first grade.Exception to Ryan Morgan I never heard much about him.Its rare that you don't hear about it. So realy could just do what Pou does and read forums than pick them based on that-It would probably work just as good

By the time they're in under 20s it's too late - the best ones are locked up by the clubs with the best 'academies'. You get the odd smokey (like Radradra) but otherwise you need to sign these guys no later than SG Ball. The Dogs poached David Klemmer in 2009 - when he was 15. This is when you need to sign your future first graders. Not wait until they are playing first grade and cost hundreds of thousands of dollars. Eventually you have to pay them what they're worth but if you get them early you at least have the advantage with retaining players. If junior recruitment wasn't so important the Storm and Roosters wouldn't spend so much money on it. If you're only ever signing first graders instead of producing your own you're behind the 8 ball.

As for Albert Kelly, he played for us in '09 and the Sharks in 2010. You've got no idea Hindy11, and your opinion is worthless.

We now have something in common

Please don't interrupt a well thought out rant by Hindy111 with any semblance of truth Stagger.

My point is everyone rated him. He was let go cause of discipline yeah? So are we all super scouts?

You don't just play like crap at age 16 than when hit 20 all of a sudden you come good. You slowly progress thru the grades. And if you can get one first grader a year from under 20's your doing ok.Not too hard when your picking 10 new guys a year to play there.

We lost a talent scout and everyone is carrying on like there mother died. Its ridiculous. A good coach is what you need and players will stay

Who is carrying on like their mother died?
All I have read has been people commenting that Nolan helped (no one says he did it on his own) build the squad we have today from the one that existed when he arrived. That he has found and retained some strong juniors both from local clubs and from other areas and that he has helped bring some talent across from other clubs for FG.

There are also comments attributing some of our shit signings to him (for reasons most on here wouldn't know about) and no one has disupted those comments.

And finally there is comments and hopes that the club doesnt allow recruitment, retention and junior player identification to fall behind now he is gone.

Take a chill pill Hindy111 - BA has also been credited by most people who are commenting on Nolan's departure as being the first coach to be able to bring the players into some semblance of a proper playing squad and get them all on the same page and playing well.

It is possible to have more than one person concurrently responsible for the fortunes (good or bad) of the footy team mate.

Dear Hindy111

Nolan was good
Reddy was crap
Cleal was good

It kind of makes a difference to have someone with a good eye for talent on board.

Doesn't mean we are dead in the water that he left though. Just a shame, because it is easy to get a dud to replace him...

Im not saying it doesn't help. But he is yet to prove his worth to Parra yet.So until all these talents come thru we are just assuming.
My eye for talent says - ZDC wont make it. Nor will most our under 20 players.Davis-Tanginoa-Tepai are my picks.Id sign them long term the rest I wouldn't care too much about if they stayed or left.

Ok I have clamed down:lol: It was a bloody good rant thou for a Tuesday before team been released wasn't it! Hey Pou did you $hit yourself when I verbally attacked you?

It all depends on the perspective. Each of us is both the audience and the director of the simplistic narratives we put together to explain the world.
