I can also confirm from what I heard over the weekend is that if Brett Stewart signs with manly DCE will sign else where, the two do not see eye to eye. We have also signed up a new recruitment officer last week, all I know his name is Des and is very close with BA..

It's hard to see eye-to-eye with that cross-eyed Moanly Number 1.

You hear all this stuff and look out for their behaviors on the formal field but nothing I've seen supports this

I think the manly team care more about winning then they do holding grudges. I have not liked people I have worked with, I'm sure most driven people would have to be built this way.

This I think is why they are so successful ATM.

What forwards will we lose?

The two forwards still on higher then they should be on contracts expire next year, and we are in the process of trying to offload both.

Maybe not next year but in future years. Jnr Paulo-Tepai-Pauli Pauli will all demand a lot more.

If we are after DCE shouldn't Sandow be the guy we try and offload? I am assuming your talking about 1026 in which case Lussick and Algood are off contract.

Of course we will get rid if Sandow, and if we don't get rid of Lussick and Allgood this year they won't be resigned next year.
And with the cap going up every year, we will easily have enough for DCE and to keep the up and coming forwards we have

Can we agree that at times he looked ok yet at other times he looked totally clueless?
Arthur has done a great job thus far. So little experience yet they remain in contention.
Lets go Ricky. Its time to rumble.

No he was good.Even if you watch Thurston he will do plays where nothing comes of it.

I thought Norman had one of his best games for us yesterday and ive been a critic of his.He showed enough to me to say he could make a good 5/8th.Its his first year there and he only has too improve a little each week to turn into a very good player.[/QUOTE]

That's what I reckon, too, Hindy. Good to see him running more.

With the cap going up we will be able to go on a spending spree.

Parramatta Eels formally open contract talks with star fullback Jarryd Hayne

Dean Ritchie
The Daily Telegraph
August 05, 2014 12:00AM

PARRAMATTA has formally opened talks to re-sign superstar fullback Jarryd Hayne.

And the timing couldn’t be better for Hayne.

The Eels and NSW champion has been in sparkling form, scoring another two tries in his side’s strong win over Cronulla at Remondis Stadium on Saturday night.

Victory keeps Parramatta in the semi-finals hunt.

Hayne has indicated he wants to remain at Pirtek Stadium long-term, with his asking price no doubt around $1 million a season.

He is the hottest player in rugby league at the moment.

Hayne, 26, is under contract until the end of next year but will be on the radar of just about every club in the NRL.

Parramatta will try to keep Hayne until the end of either 2017 or 2018.

Hayne has indicated he wants to stay, saying: “If I wanted to go, I’d be long gone.”

Hayne has scored 15 tries in 16 games this season and is Parramatta’s big hope of reaching the finals.

Parramatta winger Ken Sio will leave after this season for Hull in the English Super League.

The Eels may be looking to offload some more of their roster to have a fair dinkum crack at Manly halfback Daly Cherry-Evans, who comes off contract after next season.

Could this type of scenario be on the cards for 2016?
1. Hayne
2. Semi
3. Israel Falou (NRL special dispensation for a world class player)
4. Hoppa (on lesser money) or be replaced by Davis or Morgan
5. Goodall or Bureta
6. Norman or Matterson
7. DCE or Sandow
8. Mannah
9. Peats
10. Junior Paulo
11. Moeroa
12. Mau
13. Edwards
14. Mossop (if he proves to have glass shoulders during 2015 then Ualesi is another option for the bench - prefer a big ferocious prop if we can buy one)
15. Pauli Pauli
16 Tanginoa
17. Gower
18. Terepo

Wonder if Sandow will accept lesser money to stay on as our 14 (De Gois will be getting old for NRL - not sure we have any classy 9's coming through who can handle NRL on a weekly grind). Considering the way Sandow is playing now and if his tackling improves he could be developed into a 14 who plays for 20 to 30 minutes while Peats moves to the backrow or gets a break. DCE or Sandow as goal kickers - who else can kick well consistently?

Challenge will be to hang on to good players like Ualesi. Maybe Gower can be let go of in 2016 but he looks like a player who has at least another 3 to 4 years of NRL in him.

We get a 300k cap concession for Hayne being a long serving player??

Any club with at least one player who has been with the club for the minimum period (I think it is 6 years now, used to be 8) gets the 300k cap concession. Doesn't really matter whether it is allocated to one player or several eligible players.
