I'd be more worried about Myles and Julian O'Neill in the same team.

I echo this sentiment. Oi, Stagger you merkin...tell us who it is!
I see it as crap, is Kent a friend of Cartwright?? Titans have always been active in the players market, over the years they have bought long more then other clubs, Myles, bird, idris, Taylor ......
Firstly, whoever wins this year may very well have a huge asterisk next to their premiership.
Secondly, they shouldn't need to come down harder on now on cap cheats. Where are the front-end checks to stop clubs doing it in the first place? If anything was learnt from Scum, is that picking up cheats years afterwards is just a waste of time
What 'front-end' checks might work? If (as Kent suggests many are) a rort is being effected through cash payments, without a contract in place, channelled through a third party.....how exactly are you going to detect that in advance? It's a tough ask.
Would be easier to do if the NRL wanted to police everything more stringently. Would have to start with taking over the accounting and auditing of all financial records of the Clubs though.
I don't think you'd see a thing go through the club's accounts. If you were going to do this, it would be via a sponsor or other backer of the club, and they would make the payment to the player in lieu of an inflow to the club.
