I was at the club today and spoke to BA, if he is in a bad mood then I give up. He was smiling (unusual) and very happy, actually the most relaxed in a while.

I have known him for a long time, and haven't heard anything of the sort reported by the SMH

Sounds like more BS written about the club, not much more BA can do after him coming out yesterday.

That wasn't Brad Arthur, it was Chris Bowen.

I'm just hoping we get through the weekend without some Manly press conference announcing the re-signing of Foran.

Agree parra-matters.

I have no doubt Foran has made his mind up by now, the delay in announcement is to either:
a) use it as a springboard for the game on Friday with either a Thursday PM or Friday AM announcement of a re-signing with Manly
or
b) Waiting for the game to be over to officially announce as a Parra signing (Monday next week).

Or he could be waiting until Round 13 under that rule a new contract won't be registered by then, allowing an existing club to counter offer and pinch you back?

Why would HE want to wait for that reason? It's in the player's interest to listen to any subsequent counter offer from their existing club.....what possible benefit is there to KF in pursuing this strategy?

Big assumption to make that he has even agreed to terms.
Maybe the press have this one wrong and he hasnt yet signed (assuming we have made him an offer)

Manly won't be able to afford to wait for rd 13 to submit a counter, it's too big a hole not to replace immediately

They don't have to wait til Rd 13, that's just the maximum limit of their option. They may like to wait until DCE's future is clearer, which increases their flexibility with Foran.

Foran has probably signed with Salford by now anyway.

No doubt Manly will want to secure some existing and new players, waiting till round 13 makes that pretty hard.

If we have made such offers and they have been agreed to, it will make it very hard for Manly.

At the moment, Manly can only make offers that assume that both DCE and KF stay with them. If one of them pulls the plug, that unties the strings with respect to the other.

This is my thought as well & I think Foran sees it that way as well. His 'apprehension' over making a decision to leave or stay is really just stalling time to see if Manly will be willing to completely throw bank at him should DCE leave Manly. Not saying they still won't both leave (cause everyone would love for Manly to disintegrate) nor that there probably aren't other factors, but money is always the telling factor. DCE is the lead domino

Nothing earth shattering here but info from a solid source...

It's still in limbo as Manly will be afforded the final offer. But Parra are red hot favourites at this stage, and Manly would have to give him the Leagues Club to trump the Eels offer.
