Cornish apparently has a strong kicking game and would be ideal if we lose Sandow.
even better if he can follow a game plan and lead a team around the paddock, and his defence no matter how average would still be an improvement.

Yes.

Halfbacks run in the family, younger brother is a halfback in the Roosters squad. And his baby brother also a halfback plays 1st grade for Goulburn.

My personal feel is that the Raiders would rather keep Cornish and let McCrone and Williams go, but they have both of the latter signed up for another year, probably on decent coin, because Sticky was at a place where he couldn't sign anyone and these two jumped at the chance to secure two year deals. Similar to when we were signing people like Daniel Harrison and Matt Ryan.

Personally I think Williams would be the better option for Parra if the Raiders could pay some of his freight next season. But having said that, I feel Norman is probably going to be a better option next year, so unless Norman is to play fullback then he's probably not going to get much of a game.

Hope you don't mind a visitor making comment....

Cornish would go alright with you guys. He can follow a game plan and I think with Foran and him in your side you attack would have consistency, not the somewhat ad-lib play Sandow is known for. The fact Stuart dropped him doesn't mean much im my eyes.

I have seen this guy play a fair bit and he goes OK. Your forwards stocks are building nicely for next year and Cornish would go well behind your pack...he'd be worth the risk.

It isn't cheating, I doubt think there is any rules stating you can't take a dive.

But is it in the spirit of the game .......

Is getting up claiming you've been awarded a try when you clearly know that you've come no where near it in the spirit of the game?

Rule 15. 1 (i) A player is guilty of misconduct if he behaves in any way contrary to the true spirit of the game.

Tough one to enforce, but it exists.

Some interesting rules under Player Misconduct. The question you have to ask is why are some Player Misconduct rules enforced 100% of the time if they are detected and others 0% of the time when they are detected?

1. A player is guilty of misconduct if he:
(f) uses offensive or obscene language.
(g) disputes a decision of the Referee or Touch
Judge.

You cannot just decide to enforce some rules and not others in my opinion.

Yeh, but it's not easy for the refs to get that right all the time. What is offensive or obscene? When they try enforcing (g) they get abused by all the commentators. It's easy to say 'just keep penalising them and they'll stop'.....but they don't stop....they know what pressure will be applied to a ref who blows 15 penalties in the first 20 minutes.

These sort of rules are there to provide a credible threat if stuff get out of hand (so, for instance, if a bloke calls a ref a f**king merkin, there's no doubt that he has committed an offence). I think it is unavoidable that refs have to use some discretion in applying the misconduct rules. Some refs have more common sense than others, it seems.
