On the news last night, Brad Arthur said that there was no need to "move or get rid of anyone'. Now, by 'move', I guess he meant 'move on' - because someone will have to move. (Unless he's planning on playing Sandow off the bench or something.) Personally, I would move Hoppa back to centre, but I'm a bit concerned about Norman at fullback - he hasn't shown us a running game yet.
Norman's running game seemed just fine at the 9s.
Interestingly, Arthur seems to prefer Sandow at fullback over Norman.
Speculating on positions for next year is fairly meaningless at this stage though given that we don't even know who's going to be on the roster.
regardless of whether there is or isn't i still don't know why he would just answer the question
i hope there is a clause there so those board members wanting Anderson back realise what a blunder it would be
Pauli Pauli-Jnr Paulo & Tepai are a great example of potential stars. Guys who dont crack it till 21/22 usually end up at best average footballers.
I agree with what Ram is saying . There are plenty of young backs that at age 18-19 are ripping it up in first grade.Like DWZ -ma'atuia -Johnson.
It also depends on when the coach plays you. Might want to play it safe so that development isn't hindered or just might prefer one style over another. You can never predict who is going to be a star as there's too many factors that could prevent it.
Of the teams selected for Round 4, the following are the only backs aged 18 or 19:
Valentine Holmes
DWZ
Alex Johnston (he's actually 20 but I'll give you that one).
And it's not as if there's a stack of 20 or 21 year olds either. Have a look.
Moylan, for example, is 23
Well you can. Every man and his dog that ever saw Joey Johns and Jarryd Hayne play in the junior leagues and in their rookie 1st grade season knew they were going to be stars.
I think you would also have to had Sonny Mata'utia to your list of teenage backs... after all he did play for his country less than 6 months ago.
Hey, on Mata'utia, can someone confirm that he started the 2014 season in SG Ball or did he just play NYC?
Depends what you mean by 'crack it'. If you mean 'play first grade' then you're probably right. But players develop at different rates, and tight forwards in particular can kick on a bit later. Tepai seems a world better than Pauli to me.
Different players.Tepai is a fierce competitor but Pauli has more skills.Anyone remember when we beat the dogs last year? Pauli destroyed them.I think Pauli has more skills than Tepai and is more of a game breaker. But different type of players so i wont argue who is better.
