Semi Radradra debuted for us when he was 20?

Semi is 22 now.He played all of last year (aged 21) but made his debut under Ricky the year prior. If he wasnt 20 than he just turned 21.And his case is a little different cause of the fact he came from fijian rugby!

My point is that if these guys arent good enough by 20 than more than likely there just another Joel reddy/Ryan morgan quality player.Average at best.
Obviously this is not set in stone. But your chances of being of origin quality are probably about 1/10 less likely.

I would argue MOST get a taste at 20 or over.
I started replying to duke111s post, but got bored too fast. His data may not be accurate though....

Nathan Davis is only 19, if he debuts this year, it will be as a 19 year old.
Bevan French is also 19, again, will be 19 if he debuts.
Reimis Smith is just 17. If he debuts next year he'll still be young
Goodall is 20, and if he debuts this year will still be 20, John Folau, same story.

There are 5 guys right there who look like they could be 'something'. I don't see the downside in them starting off the season in lower grades? Not everyone who debuts as a young guy does it in round 1....

My point is if there going too be special than by 20 there pushing guys like Vai toutai and Ryan Morgan out of the way.
Lavaka and Goodal could not even keep Faraimo out of Wenty. To me that says something. There over hyped. I would rather be proved wrong. But chances are there only going too be average first graders at best!!

It was not that long ago people where calling for Vai Toutai to be in grade- The gun from under 20's.
Now know one wants a bar of him.

Nothing wrong with average first graders. You can't expect the 'academy' to fill your team with stars - these kids are identified early (by every club) and there is a massive bidding war. This is why kids like Jackson Hastings walk straight into the top 25 - because they are worth $100k+ a year while still eligible for SG Ball.

If your 'academy' can round out your top 15 or so players with decent backups and fringe players on minimum wage then you avoid our situation of recent years where we were having to spend over $100k on backups with no potential.

You might be right duke111?

But wait out the season first. Any of those guys I mentioned could debut this season, and push out Toutai or Morgan.
We're trying to make the semis for the first time in donkey's years. Throwing a new player to the wolves isn't always the best idea. Sometimes it is worth waiting a few weeks before putting them out there.

So if he was born in 1992 and he debuted in 2003.......

he then would have been 11...jesus i knew semi was good but not that good

But seriously yeh i think he was 21 but depends on when he debuted in relation to his birthday

Mascord is an idiot. Arguing because Semi didn't live in NSW before he was 13 he shouldn't play. What about Inglis? He was 15 still playing in NSW when Melbourne Storm saw him.

Lote Tuqiri didn't move here till he was 15

Korbin Sims played for Gerringong and Born in NSW

Anyone else?

Semi might disagree, he came up thru Wenty

I knew someone would bring up Semi, but...

When you find someone in Fiji at age 19 playing Union, it can hardly be considered coming from the Parramatta junior district.

I was referring to our juniors in our nursery. We have no one in the backline whatsoever. That is disgraceful for a club like Parra. We should have a centre, winger or even a fullback. They are the easiest positions to develop early and most good ones start showing their talents in their teens and get a shot here and there while still in their teens, rather then early to mid 20's.

We have two at the club who have been put in firsts this week, but they are hardly of true first grade standard. If they are the pick of the bunch, f**k have we go problems.

Not one people, not one.

Inglis played his first senior football in NSW at 16

they conveniently discovered this after he'd played one Origin game and said they couldn't change it

under the new rules Sims would be ineligible for Queensland

the only reason he is eligible for them now is because he played under 20's SOO for them before the new rules were in place
