Beau Scott is the only one that I would take from what is available. Assuming it is earlier than expected of course. We have chased him previously so I see no reason why we shouldnt again. Top notch player with great defence that wants to return to Sydney.

Would you be willing to spend around 700k.

It'll be hilarious when news gets out that we've signed Justin Horo.

He's the next Mateo...

Actualy, he might be the current Mateo...

Between the 2 of them in the Manly side, they take up 2/17th's of their game day side and contribute < the sum of 1 quarter of an average first grade footballer...

As long as it is not all under the cap. How did you come up with that figure anyway?

Well considering the demand for him the last time he was available and that hasn't diminished and likely strengthened due to him proving he has overcome his injuries and that the salary cap is increasing incrementally over the next two years further still and that we aren't the only ones who value and seek an enforcer in the team, I feel around 700k would be on the money.

As for how much is or isn't outside the cap, who knows? But one thing is for certain, it won't be as much if any, since we speared the 'Premiership Club', that can be for certain.

Do you choose only to read and accept the things you want to?
The Premiership Club has not been 'speared' as you put it. Moss just is no longer part of it.

docker is a dragons junior, they want him, they just don't want to pay a transfer fee for him now.

Yes a shellharbour sharks junior. Not sure why they want a transfer fee, considering he is off contract this year and doesn't appear to be in their plans.

What do you mean?

Ram, reading all the posts on the matter, the Premiership Club is in place. Moss did not want to report to the Football Club/Board, which they suggested was needed to ensure compliance etc at the NRL

Moss said I don't report to anyone, or similar, he decided to move on, that's how it reads

So when you say we have got it in place, just without him, what exactly have we got it place? The clubs, $900-$3000k membership one? Is that the one you guys are referring to?

Is the footy club crazy? Wasn't one of the major purposes of the premiership club to help the club sign players with TPA. If they reported to the club it would pretty much defeat this purpose as they wouldnt be obtaining TPA independently of the eels thus the amounts could be required to count under the cap

Prior to announcing the launch of the Premiership Club mid-2014, the club approached the NRL and outlined how it was proposing that the Premiership Club would operate and with the agreement of the NRL announced the launch. I dont know the specifics of this but it was obviously dealt with correctly at the time and was not designed to be similar to the Thoroughbreds.

TPA's are not as cut and dried as some people think:
f a player is receiving money from any person as a way of inducing him to play for the club, then that money will be included in the Salary Cap.

Income that a player earns from parties not related to his club is generally not included in the Salary Cap, however, the details of the agreement must be advised to the club by the player.

The club must then get approval for the agreement from the Salary Cap Auditor in order for the remuneration to be excluded.

In 2006, the NRL also introduced an allowance for players who enter into Third Party Agreements with club sponsors, referred to as Marquee Player Agreements. In 2014, the Top 25 players are allowed to earn up to a maximum $600,000 in Marquee Player Agreements but the total payments under these agreements must not exceed $600,000 per club, otherwise any excess amounts are included in the salary cap.

Players are also able to enter into agreements with game sponsors, referred to as Sponsor Leveraging Agreements. There is no maximum amount and they are excluded from the salary cap.

So even though the club doesn't arrange it and the company is not related to the club, the club still has to know and report on these payments and seek NRL approval.

Of course the Premiership Club might just be a way of getting the maximum out of local business for the Marquee Player Allowance.

Not referring to the $900 - $3k corporate partnership one - that is simply an introductory sponsorship level for Small to Medium businesses.

The Premiership Club is $30,000 entry fee I am led to believe.
