NSW player of the year in NSW cup last year.

Zac Hosking has been crowned as the 2021 NSW Cup Player of the Year.
A part-time player who works as a carpenter during the day, Hosking was a senior leader amongst the Cup squad in the shortened 2021 season.
The Central Charlestown junior has been in the Cup system since 2018 and featured in almost every game this season.

Comfortable at lock and on the edge, Hosking crossed for two tries, ran for over 1200 metres and made more than 400 tackles at over 93% efficiency.
"Zac was absolutely outstanding, he was one of our leaders on and off the field," NSW Cup Coach Andrew Ryan said.
"He drove all of our intensity at training, can play in the middle as a lock or on the edge if he had too, scoring tries and saving tries in both positions.
"He's a carpenter by day, but always comes to training ready to rip in.
"This is a really great reward for a champion guy and one of our best performers on the field."

A 40 year old api would still contribute and outplay our other options
The older he gets the more injury prone he'll be. Not just injuries that rule him out but injuries that can effect his training which can effect things like stamina and through that his service/defence. Wallace retired because he felt with his injuried he could no longer train to a standard he was satified with.
He's 25. Just a late bloomer or a history of injuries?
In the entire reserve grade of Australia there are plently of guys running around who have been handle their own in first grade for years but have been overlooked for a vareity of reasons.

Watch the World Cup closely and you'll see like 20 guys around 22-26 who are solid but have barely played first grade if at all. Many more used to play but dropped off due to Covid and had to get full time jobs.

We had Mattheson Johns a centre/second rower from the Dragons who was one of our best Cup players in 2019 and was playing better than others who went on to play first grade but if he still plays he'd be semi pro right now.
