I suspect we’re waiting for the announcement on salary cap for next year (which is an absolute shambles that we still don’t know - it’s a shambles that we didn’t know before Nov 1st last year, let alone this year).
And what that tells me is that we’re definitely going to be paying Wade more than he’s worth. If we HAVE to sing hIm (clearly I don’t think we should) he should be on minimum wage - whatever next years cap is should be irrelevant.

Would minimum wage satisfy the NRL? They would have a value on Wade's contract. They supposedly have a value on all of them.

It would satisfy me.

Absolutely it should. Roosters are signing Lodge on at minimum wage - despite the fact Warriors are paying him $750k for this year.

Yeah but what the Roosters pay is only what they have to pay to get the contract to what it is registered for.

If Warriors weren't kicking the tin the Roosters aren't getting Lodge for $100k.

I reckon if the Sharks try and get Graham for minimum wage the contract gets rejected.

I’m not sure that is the case - the Warriors released him and paid him off. There was no Warriors to Roosters deal, so there’s no ‘Warriors pay x and Roosters pay y to = z’. He got his full salary from Warriors. Roosters should be forced to pay his full market value this year.
I’d love to see what evidence NRL could upset to justify Wade being anything over minimum. They certainly won’t want to be using his last 3 years stats to suit that arguement.

Well let's say that's how it works. There is also the fact he was only signed for 8 games and the Roosters were 10th. He helped get them to the semis and ended up with 9 games but I won't count the semi.

$100,000 for 8 games isn't minimum wage. He already had 3/4 of a mill in his kick when he signed that as well which made it easy for him to sign on for $12,500 a game (probably unders). He remains unsigned for 2023. Whoever signs him won't be getting away with $100k for a fill season.

The comparison of what he got for 8 games against what WG "should" get for a full season is beyond apples and oranges. It's really just a commentary on disdain for the Roosters :)
