This guy has looked an outstanding prospect in his first couple of games, and is only a development contract. His path will be blocked at NQld by Nanai & Luki.

Get onto it Moons !

Kulikefu Finefeuiaki

His task of getting a consistent run in the Cowboys line-up will get harder and harder once the North Queensland outfit have all their troops on deck. Yet Kulikefu Finefeuiaki has managed to establish himself as one of the club’s most promising rising stars - despite playing the same position as Jeremiah Nanai, Heilum Luki and Luciano Leilua. In making his 10th NRL appearance in his debut season with the aforementioned trio nursing injuries and suspensions, the 19-year-old Ipswich State High School product at last was given the chance to start. However, his impact off the bench has been clinical, scoring in back-to-back victories over powerhouse outfits South Sydney and Penrith, while making two of his three line breaks for the season so far. There is a genuine nursery of second-row options in North Queensland, and with Finefeuiaki still only on a development contract at this stage, for next year the club will no doubt need to figure out how he features regularly, or risk a poaching raid. That kid is an outstanding prospect. How does he break into a fit Sharks team though? Would he leave Cows reggies to play Sharks reggies?

He would take Moyzas bench spot. 3 middles and an edge gives more flexibility. Chances are he gets a start at some point as he would only have Teig and Nikora ahead. I don't consider Jesse C an edge.

Maybe O'Kane. Hosking. There are young blokes there in waiting and for the want of another one we may as well get a journeyman. There's also any amount of young props floating around in the lowers, some of could play edge.

Perhaps Talakai as I can't see Dykes unseating WK or BT with everyone fit but I can see him at centre to start out.

Just went and had a read of the kennel forum to see what they think of him. They can't wait to see the back of him and that's not just off his game on the weekend.

Alot of that would be based on the value for money he's provided .. which would be awful. Get him at a good price and it might be worth the risk however I dont see willing to take unders, though might not get a choice. You'd think someone would have picked him up by now if keen.

I'd already made my mind up about him before reading stuff on there but seeing him described as an arm grabbing defender was enough to justify my original thoughts! Cannot stand that shit from forwards.

I have a strong image of Thompson that I'll never forget.
In the height of lockdown, where everyone had to wear masks and only allowed out for shopping, exercise, and also NRL players under more strict conditions due to the games, clubs etc
I was walking into C'bah Shopping Village and out of Woolies came this angry looking ranga without a mask, with a look of defiance to anyone who would question him for not wearing a mask.
It was Thompson.
No BS, it was only 20 seconds after that The Slothfield walked out of BWS.
I couldn't help but think 'imagine what the story line would have been the next day if Buzz had seen him'

*note: this is not a slur on people that didn't want to wear masks, I didn't really give a shit, but the lack of responsibility to the NRL itself and all the crap they were dealing with, and this guy was dumb enough to be publicly showing he didn't care about the game.

When fit, he’s a very good defender, he’s mobile, he’s quick (has really good line speed), and he belts.
He won’t get big money in the NRL, but he would command big money in Super League - that will likely drive up his price.
He’s been unlucky with injuries, timing (covid) and the club he joined - I get the feeling he’s never really been embraced and properly looked after by the Dogs.
If he wants to stay in Aus, he’ll have to take unders, and that’s where you might get some value - get him at unders, and he plays to his potential, and you’ve got some real value.

He was Dogs best player before he got injured. The won some games on the back of his defence.
That was his first game of the year, although it was quite alarming.
He came back and looked lazy and uninterested. Some might say that suits us.
8 Missed tackles again is a huge concern, especially for someone who said publicly they want to stay in the NRL and are fighting for a contract.

Personally, I wouldn't touch him unless we released one of our middles but I don't see that happening, and not for the price he would still be asking for.
We have 2 spots available for next season and have no back up 9, no depth in the back row and limited depth on the wing.
