This guy has looked an outstanding prospect in his first couple of games, and is only a development contract. His path will be blocked at NQld by Nanai & Luki.

Kulikefu Finefeuiaki

His task of getting a consistent run in the Cowboys line-up will get harder and harder once the North Queensland outfit have all their troops on deck. Yet Kulikefu Finefeuiaki has managed to establish himself as one of the club’s most promising rising stars - despite playing the same position as Jeremiah Nanai, Heilum Luki and Luciano Leilua. In making his 10th NRL appearance in his debut season with the aforementioned trio nursing injuries and suspensions, the 19-year-old Ipswich State High School product at last was given the chance to start. However, his impact off the bench has been clinical, scoring in back-to-back victories over powerhouse outfits South Sydney and Penrith, while making two of his three line breaks for the season so far. There is a genuine nursery of second-row options in North Queensland, and with Finefeuiaki still only on a development contract at this stage, for next year the club will no doubt need to figure out how he features regularly, or risk a poaching raid.
