West Tigers have a very rich nursery out there. I'd be going for 2 or 3 of their best 17 year olds for Hunt.
That's the advantage of being a development club. We have others ready to take the place of those leaving and can replenish our lower grade stocks so that these 17 year olds are ready to go in 4 or 5 years when the next desperate club is chasing one of our 28 or 29 year old experienced player.
The young Newcastle prop, the Canterbury centre, etc that we got in previous swap deals will hopefully be coming through in the next few years having learnt the system, honed their craft in the lower grades and be ready to go straight away when they hit 1st grade, just like Iro was.
Its a good strategy.
We also have the added benefit of kids from places like that are much hungrier than kids who grew up in the Shire.
