Last week the Game Plan dropped that Souths were in the hunt for Folau. This came from the fact that Souths did meet with Folau's manager Isaac Moses, but the meeting was about Konrad Hurrell :)

Yeah but for example Inglis is on 15% of the cap. Plenty others have % rises as the cap goes up.

Sure but the cap still went up, Inglis is signed, sutton is signed and players will leave. Its bizarre people think south won't make keary a very decent offer if he shows he is the real deal, especially due to the position he plays. Its almost London to a brick that Sutton will be moving to 13 if he is. Maybe as soon as this year.

Regarding Keary...

I posted this a few weeks ago in one of the numerous other threads about him and I know it to be factual.

Over the last several weeks, South Sydney have had a number of approaches from other clubs regarding Luke and his services for the rest of 2013 and beyond. Penrith and the Dragons are just two of many. All of these clubs have been given the same answer - Luke is not available for this year.

Luke himself, is happy where he is and has not personally approached the club for a release.

Luke has been told that if he keeps his head down and continues to play good football, he will be given an opportunity in first grade, this year. (This happened last week and will continue to happen over the Origin period and beyond). Luke is happy with this approach.

If, by the end of this year, a regular place has not been found for him in our first grade team and it looks like that will continue into 2014, he will be allowed to look at his options and the last 12 months of his contract will be nullified so he can take up a better opportunity elsewhere. If a spot has been found for him, then Souths will look to extend his contract in the offseason and it will obviously include an upgrade for 2014.

In short, he will not be playing for any other team in 2013.

It's funny that people think that Souths won't move Sutton around. Sutton has played his fair share of centre, 5/8 and back row over the years. Last Saturday, he started at 6, moved to 13 when Keary came on and actually ended up defending in the centres when Champion was injured. The last two years he has essentially been playing as an extra lock rather than a traditional 5/8. Whenever his name has been brought up for Origin almost everyone on this forum has stated that they think he should be playing as an extra back rower off the bench and that he definitely shouldn't be playing as a 5/8 unless there is an injury.

Then as soon as you say that he may move to 13 at club level, the same people try to shoot that down....

Some of you people are odd....

Sure it was sweetheart - is that for the 2015 season when his contract with the warriors expires?

Craig Gower almost certain to sign for Newcastle within the next few days according to Dean Ritchie.

Strange.

NRL contracts mean plenty, but if both parties agree to terms in ending the contract (player asks for release, club accepts for whatever reason) then that's what they do. People always drag out this bullshit "oh contracts mean nothing anymore" line when it's complete crap.

Hurrell might want out and the warriors might be happy for him to go based on any number of things (poor attitude/think he's not worth it/have another player lined up/all or none of the above) so the two parties strike up a compromise and boom, off he goes.

according to The Mole in today's Rugby League Week:

"Boom youngster Evander Cummins wants out of the Dragons with a year left on his deal. Cummins' manager Jim Banaghan has been fielding calls since Josh Dugan joined the Red V and Cummins' future appears to lie elsewhere. The 19-year-old fullback is currently sidelined with a foot injury."

( NB - one correction to the article, he turned 20 in January this year )

For those that don't know about him. He was in the under 20 Team of the Year in 2012 & played a few NSW Cup games, but hasn't played this year due to foot / ankle injuries. He's in the same style of players as Preston Campbell, Matt Bowen & Ben Barba.

I hope he overcomes his injury problems & is playing NRL soon as he's too good a talent to be wasted in lower grades.

Cute, you still think NRL contracts mean something.

Cute, he's not Sonny Bill Williams - he can't just board a plane to Sydney without the Warriors wanting to release him. Considering they re-signed him last year to a long term deal, I doubt they'll be agreeing to that.

I'm sure Soup Nazi Maguire won't let Keary slip, there would have to be a horse's head in the young bloke's bed for that to happen. Helps that he has great defence to match the spark, the only reason Sutton needed keeping at 5/8. McQueen's absence should give Maguire the excuse he's looking for if last week's presser is anything to go by

Ive heard Manly have offered Aaron Woods a good deal. I wouldn't rule it out with Kite, Galuvao and probably Rose leaving at the end of the year.

Aaron Woods isn't that great.

He scored 2 tries against a below average Panthers team earlier in the year. Big whoop.
