So James Tamou gets done drink driving. The courts will no doubt deal with him by fining him and suspending his licence.

Should the NRL step in and ban him for a stack of games as well ?

I say hell no.

If he drove the car into a stadium and mowed down people whilst a NRL game was being played I'd say yes but otherwise no.

Why not offer Soward a deal? He could be the difference in getting the spoon or not. He is better than Roberts and Kelly.

Who cares about the spoon? Coming 16th is no different from finishing 9th.

We're better off using cap space to build for the future than wasting it to avoid the wooden spoon.

JAKE STAKES HIS CLAIM

Watch for the Eels to offer exciting fullback Jake Mullaney a new contract after his impressive performance against the Roosters last Friday night - his first NRL match of the year. With so many players being shown the door, Mullaney, 23 is one bloke Parramatta definitely want to keep!

This is really really bad news if true.

We need to move away from these 1 dimensional blokes at the club. Surely there's got to be a young bloke out there who can play fullback who we could sign up?
Mullaney is SO BAD defensively. If there's a line break it results in a try every time in the games that he's played. He's not safe under the high ball either.

I realize that we need a backup for the FB spot, but I'd much rather we throw $150k at a young bloke like Peter Hiku who could play wing for us when not required at the back.

If we win 9 from the last 13 we can make the 8. Why give up and why not increase our chances if a player is available with Soward's experience?

mainly because Soward plays les than 9 good games out of 13 and he will no longer be playing against parra, who always make him look like wally Lewis

I do.

If any money we have left/free up is used to put toward building for the future, i'm all for it, or even another player that could be brought over before June 30 for the remainder of this season and beyond.

Sticky may or may not care about the spoon, but it means alot to alot of fans. Although, if we get it again i will less dissapointed than last year because i know the future is looking brighter and brighter.

I don't either but would prefer Marshall over Soward but anyway how would Soward make the forward pack all of a sudden stronger?

Our forwards are not that bad. We can hold them for at least half the game. The problem is we are not scoring when we are holding them. Confidence then decreases and problems occur with our defence. Notice how teams are buoyed when they start scoring?

Not sure what he would cost to resign (and hopefully it aren't to much, definitely a lot less then $150k) but with Roberts and Kelly on the outer maybe the thinking behind resigning him, is to have a back up in the halves (he does play 5/8) with at least some NRL experience. It's not like the under 20's have a half that could play some nrl if required.

And this.

I should of stated he could be the difference in getting the spoon or actually challenging the 8, or someone like Sandow going into next year with more confidence from playing with a decent 6, or even learning something off him.

List of forwards for 2014.
Front row
Mannah
MoiMoi
Allgood
Lussick
Jnr Paulo
Mossop

2nd row/Lock
Tanginoa
Terepo
Hock
Paulo
Loko(maybe)
So how many more forwards do we need? Id say we are ok in the front row.Maybe a hard working second rower would be handy thou im not sure we need Blair or FPN-There front rowers right?
Personaly i think with Terepo and Tanginoa coming good along with Hock and Mossop we look ok in the forwards. If Loko is moved to the backrow i think paulo and Ryan would be enough as back ups.
