Hodgson was not much of defender either, but no-one gave a shit about that.
Hodgson was awesome under the high ball, and covering kicks. One on one tackles with a prop? Not so much. But he was good enough at getting in the road and giving cover defenders time to get back and help [mind you, he had a prime Nathan Hindmarsh cover defending - not hard to get in the road and wait for the help I suppose?]
Hodgson had a fair amount more skill than Mullaney in attack as well didn't he?
