Watched Wenty win today and was impressed with a big forward in the Wyong side named Ronnie Alovili.He was a handfull for our defence needing 3 or more to bring him down and still managed to get a ball away a number of times.

Not that i really rate Wallace but he is better than Prince and Hunt at present.

We have lost all sorts of talent without bringing anyone of note into the team, just upgraded contracts which wouldn't of been major upgrades..

The feeling from Brisbane fans is that:

1) The recruitment and retention team is f**ked in the head or

Brian Smith got us 2 minor premierships, took us to a Grand Final and got us within one game of another. Jason Taylor got us to the finals where we were eliminated by a cheating Melbourne Storm. Michael Hagan got us to within one game of the Grand Final, we were eliminated once again by a cheating Melbourne Storm. Daniel Anderson got us to a Grand Final, where, once again, we lost to a cheating Melbourne Storm.

Sure we haven't won the big one, thanks in large part to a cheating side, but our coaches before Kearney were a hell of a lot more successful.

At this stage Hock and Mossop are unknown quantities. Hoppa was signed after having one great season in a fantastic premiership team. He is also a massive risk.

Played more than ok in an origin game.....if someone can handle origin in the centres at Hopoate's age shows he is a special talent

In my view that is overstating things slightly. With the possible exception of 2009, I think if it wasn't the Storm, it would have been some other team that knocked us out.

Our run in 2009 was great but it also highlighted one of the flaws of the Top 8 NRL finals system. Realistically, a team only needs to be switched on for 8-10 weeks and can play rubbish for a large part of the season.

A lot of other fans I have spoken to have an issue with that and would prefer a top 5 or 6 finals system. The NRL will never entertain that though given the reduced revenue.
