Ricky shall now be known as "Chainsaw" after the corporate legend Al "Chainsaw" Dunlap.

So anyone want to guess what hooker we have signed?

Can't see us telling Keating he aren't wanted if we havent got a hooker signed up for 2014, Pritchard is still to young and inexperienced to be our regular hooker.

TBH I don't have any problems with that list*. Obviously POH and Blair didn't impress enough.

* A fit and healthy Willie Tonga would have been a good addition to the side

Maybe we can see why now......

To be a bit more balanced: the knock on Kearney was that he wasn't able to be hard enough on the players.

Perhaps he's more of a contributing factor to current circumstances than a victim of them??

It's only taken his replacement 12 games to kick heads. So it certainly looks as if the past bloke had a part to play

I'm guessing this wouldn't be a surprise to the players. I am presuming they would have been told from the start they would be playing for their futures.

I'd like to keep Fui and Reni they are not the problem.

Are you serious?

Reni is the captain of the problem! A number of us have been pointing out how he isn't exactly busting his hump out there so far this year.
For a bloke who has been an 80 minute player all his life, he looks winded after 10, and doesn't put up his hand to help his mates defensively.

As a veteran, he ought to be leading the way rather than grudgingly following some 20 year old blokes example

I can see why the above mentioned players may be moved on but gee I reckon Blair has been hard done by if true - he hasn't been any worse the vai or Sio and is still young enough to improve.

Nah - Blair is hopeless. Doesn't have an ear to listen to the instructions he's being given, and so finds himself out of position far too often, or gets himself into trouble with the touchline far too often.

I could very well be wrong, but you definitely are. Just because you say American sports can't be compared to another countries sports doesn't mean you can't. ;-)

You most certainly can compare some Australian sports to some American sports, and the NFL is the closest example of a professional sporting competition to the NRL. It's not a perfect comparison, but it's the best we've got.

Also, as someone already pointed out, the way things go in the U.S. and A generally portends the future of things in Oz.

Here is a question for nrl cap experts - lets say we still have some available cap left for this year - is there anything stopping us by using this cap space by paying "redundancy" payments to players that have contracts beyond this year. Eg we want to get rid of Harrison but he has a contract for next year so we get him to agree to take an extra $100k this year to terminate his contract.
