We'd still have pick up the tab for 2014, and I don't think that's a smart thing to do. Pay fui to play for another team.

Whilst I didn't hear it myself, someone on the eels FB said it was just being discussed on 2GB - 12 players told to move on, only name mentioned was Reni.

Hopefully from here on in, we start seeing players coming here to play, and not just to earn a big fat pay cheque. Hopefully this will inspire sandow to start earning his $$. Interesting times ahead.

Just got home and read the email. It is about bloody time the players took the rap. We can't continue sacking coaches every year and a half and expect something different to happen on the field. I thought it was probably time for Brian to go when he did, but always said hagan was a bad choice. I was a big fan of andos and thought he should have stayed longer. I thought Kearney might be good bringing that storm mentality to the club but that didn't work out either. I thought early on under ricky i was seeing improvement but now im not so sure. However the club has got the right attitude by leaving the coach alone and going after the players. Stand up and be counted or f*ck off and from the sounds of it if you haven't stood up yet its to late you will be f*cking off.
I salute ricky, ken and anyone else involved, as a fan i say thankyou.

Heard that up too 12 have been told they will be will not be needed next year, and reni is one of them.

There'll be a number of players playing for their future in the NRL over the remainder of the season. Some will have to up their effort in order to win a contract with another club. It'll be interesting to see if we do get an improved effort from some of the squad now they know they're on the outer, or if they'll just shut up shop completely. They've all had more than enough opportunities to prove themselves that's for sure.

give me crap players who want to do what it takes to become better over shit who are happy to serve up the same each week

at least the playing group will know they aren't safe because there no one better around.

Penrith might have the right strategy of just signing a bunch of journeymen and developing a new culture from stratch. There seems to be culture through our current squad that mediocre performances are acceptable and maybe a few solid recruits who are just enthusiastic and hard working may be enough to change that.
