The only issue with this masterplan is in order for the 2014 contracted players to move on, a club will actually want to pick them up. Can't see possible suitors lining up round the corner for Reni, Keating, Roberts (?) Ryan, Tonga etc

It will be interesting to see who gets the punt. I'm sure there are a couple of obvious ones but will there be any surprises?

Over a long period of time, there have been a lot of people who have lost their jobs at the Eels without the playing group ever being held accountable. As of today the playing group is being held accountable
Do those people now get their jobs back with an apology that it was really the players fault??

Keating, Tonga and Roberts are all off contract at the end of the year. Dont need anyone to pick them up. Ryan surely wouldnt be on too much. Reni would get some decent coin in the UK Super League. Gus was keen on Ben Smith before he re-signed last year. As for the others...well we could be stuck with a few.

So why have you blown a gasket every time Poupou has said that for the last few years?

Because last year we were told that Kearney was cleaning house, getting rid of the old boys that "cramped the style" of the new young blood. Hindy, Burt, Poore, Moi Moi (didn't happen), Smith (Didn't happen) and others were all told to finish up or look for deals elsewhere to allow the new young blood to come through.

It will be interesting to see who is on the list of players not to be retained and when the came to the club.

Daily Telegraph said:
PARRAMATTA coach Ricky Stuart has told at least a dozen Eels first graders they are unwanted beyond this season.
Veterans Reni Maitua, Ben Smith, Ben Roberts, Willie Tonga and Matt Keating are believed to be among the players who were told the news of their immediate future around lunch today.

It's understood youngsters Cheyse Blair and Luke Kelly are also part of the blood-letting.

I can see why the above mentioned players may be moved on but gee I reckon Blair has been hard done by if true - he hasn't been any worse the vai or Sio and is still young enough to improve.
