Hammer off to the Phins.

We are continually behind the 8 ball.
I’d trust in Zammit. He knows these kids and what they bring. The fact he could not displace Drinkwater when he was supposedly the next big thing in their backline, is not coincidence. He seems to play in bursts. We have enough of those. Great impact player. Perhaps Wayne can make him better.

You’ve also gotta remember that the Hammer is a Queenslander and the Dolphins (despite not being near North Queensland) are still much closer to home than Newcastle so it’s not a great surprise to me that he’s going there. It’s also possible that we weren’t actually looking at him anyway. Tbh he doesn’t exactly solve our yardage problem at the back anyway.

The QLD thing is the most likely and if he wants f/b then he has it.
Knights likely not considered due to doubts about Ponga to 5/8

Our team completely lacks big play threats. Something he brings in spades.
On paper, Ponga Young Gaga and Best should be big play threats, that’s almost the entire backline.

We need to play as a unit with some enterprising football and those big plays will come.

You could say Pryce and KPP will be big play threats too the following year.

Munster resigned with Storm for 4 years

not that we were a chance, it just means now any half that becomes available we will be getting into a massive bidding war with old man Bennett

Disagree

We lack stability , toughness and leadership. Things Hammer is certainly not going to bring

If we are indeed looking to move Ponga to 5/8 we need more solid than flash in a fullback who is going to take over for him. Again, something Hammer is not going to bring

Good for him. Dolphins recruitment has been a monumental failure.

The stand out keeper is Young with some in the maybe range, Clifford, Hodgson (if fit), Hunt, Jones, Randall and Tuala (as backup), Vea’la (potential).
Clune, Fitzgibbon, Frizell (cooked), Johns, Klemmer (cost), Mann can go end 2023 or earlier the maybe group need to show something during 2023.
As much as the overall squad is poor wholesale sacking is not only difficult but hard to overcome, need to rebuild in stages, quality needed.
