Transfer fee....get the f**k outta here,
We all know the Knights will never do it but they should tell this
arrogant mob..."We don't want your money,we want a player of equal value to us
or no deal,Young plays out the season here, the sun doesn't rise and set on the say so
of Nick f**king Politis."
But we'll end up with Paulo or Allen.....'cause.....Knights.
100% we'd be dumb enough to take Cory Allen and think we got a good deal.

We won't drop Dom. We should - he's not in our plans from next year onwards, but that would be admitting that we aren't getting anywhere this year. We all know that's true but you can't really admit that as a club.

Oh and I can't wait to see how this affect's the team performance. We also know they shit the bed at the first sign of adversity. The real question is will we be able to event detect a difference from the normal shit if it does have an impact?

Roosters have a very different definition of "long term junior". Signing young players on big money for ball and matts doesn't make them a junior.
Hmmm. I have heard this argument before and I think sometimes it gets in the way of clubs having a well thought through development process Surely, development means taking any junior, not just "locals" and improving them such that they are good enough for first grade? To do that you want the best coaching, mentoring and physical training you can get. Why does it matter whether you got the player at 15 from a "local" junior club or at 17 from Parramatta's Harold Matthews team? If the Knights got a player and coach him for four years and he debuts at 21, he may be a Parramatta local, but his development is at least 80% (4 out of 5 years) due to the Knights.

In all likelihood there may be years where the local junior catchment area hasn't produced enough players in certain positions, you have to go and get the best youngsters you can to fill the gaps regardless of where they are. Why not go and sign the best junior you can find from another area?

If you look at the "local" junior competition for the Roosters, they simply don't have enough players to build a strong pipeline of juniors. The Eastern Suburbs demographic just doesn't support it. It makes sense they go out and find the best juniors they can from outside the "local" area. They still have to invest, coach, mentor and develop them. It is still junior development and they are good at it.

This is almost deja vu of Anthony Milford last year.

AOB will stick by Dom all year if he's on the books because it helps AOB not get fired so quick.

I thought AOB would pick Dom because he’s by far the best outside at the club? There’s absolutely no benefit to dropping him back to NSW Cup.

Either the club holds onto him for 2023 and plays him every week he’s available, or they cut him loose for either a player swap (preferred option) or transfer fee.

The benefit is you invest in a young talent already on the books like Mapapalangi and get him more FG experience or at least find out if he's going to be a long-term option.

I would like to see Dom get over a dozen tries but it simply doesn't help us moving forward. Just hinders our progress as a team.

Unless we start 6-0 and it's looking likely we can do something this year, I'm probably not in favour of playing Dom.

You do realise Young does not want to be here.

Again, I don’t blame him. I blame this shithouse club for failing to see what everyone else could.

Now it is biting them on the arse.

No, there is no need to play Dom in the NRL side this year until injuries force the coach to do so.

He has made it very clear he does not want to be here, be part of the team or part of the club.

Hopefully the dunces at the club can learn something form their ineptitude.

Grow a set ffs.

This 100%.

But we’ll play our part, go soft and continue to develop Dom for the Roosters even though he doesn’t want to be here.

Maps is a 5/8 playing as a makeshift centre, and likely never done a day of training on the wing in his life. All dropping Dom does is give Tuala or Hunt a clear pathway back to first grade.

What will hinder the team is dropping a guy to reserves out of spite. Fans and the club aren’t very happy with Dom, but I can pretty much guarantee the playing group still support him and can see the reasons behind him signing with the Roosters.

I’d also say that they’d prefer fielding the strongest team and being in a better position to win games each week. So until he starts phoning it in and not putting in the effort, I think he’s going to be kept getting picked in the side.

Dropping your best attacking weapon out of spite is some Nathan Brown level shit.

This will just be the Joseph Tapine saga all over again if AOB drops Dom. RLPA CEO Clint Newton will be threatening action and every article in the media will paint the club in a negative light, which just leads to more pressure on the playing group.

Geez there is some emotional stuff going on here.
Dom thinking that the Roosters give him the best chance of success in his career doesn't mean he suddenly hates Newcastle. He can want to be here and still think that the Roosters give him and his relatively short career the best chance going forward. Unless we have an actual capable replacement (Not Tuala or Hunt) then we're just dropping him for the sake of dropping him. The same people begging for him to be dropped will be the same one calling for heads when we don't have an outside back making the kind of in roads Dom does. It's weird.
