Turuva wouldn't come here, and he'd probably be asking too much. Tuala is doing his job but I'm not sure any other good side gets by with a winger like him? Look at the Panthers, Roosters (f**k you), Storm wingers.

If you showed random fans stats from his last two games but didn't tell them who it was, they'd assume it was a To'o or a Young. Been excellent in attack, under the highball, reads are great in defense and work rate has been excellent. I'm more than happy to see him play out the season as our starting winger if he keeps up this form.

Only concern is that Tuala is so safe under the highball, opposition teams will kick high to Marzhew all the time...

Tuala deserves his spot. He is a great clubman and a highly competent first grader. You could argue he has been our most consistent back over his stay here. Rarely puts two bad games together. Knows how to finish a move.
For me leave him there. He handled DWZ well. A big bodied winger. Means he can mark Dom. So do we then Switch Marz to partner Gags? Tuala and Bradman work well together.

I'm not a Tuala hater by any means but even his biggest fans would have to admit he's a bottom tier NRL starting winger. He's ok with yardage and doesn't make many mistakes but does that make up for the lack of impact? Maybe in a team with enough firepower to cover for him but the Knights aren't that at the moment. Was given a couple of half chances in space last night and it was depressing to watch considering what we had on both wings last season.

He's clearly better than Jenkins but I hope the club has higher ambitions than either of them in their planning for next year.

Fair. There will be a lot of movement in the off season if we miss the 8. Tuala is no superstar. But we have to pick him over the others we have. I still think his consistency is underrated. Always steps up and does his job.

It wouldn’t be the worst idea to play Pyrce outside the old man until Marzhew is back.
Ease him into first grade on the wing like many other fullbacks before him like Ponga, Slater, RTS etc.
I would rather AOB take a punt on him than to continue to play Jenkins on the wing.

KPP needs to switch side with Lucas.
KPP has a right hand carry. It would make it easier for him to throw the offload playing on the right.
As good as Frizell has been, he is a bit of a handbrake in backline shifts.
He never looks to promote the football.
KPP and the old man would compliment each other’s game well.

I would move Frizell to the middle and drop DSAF to Cup.
I think the time is right to give DSAF a spell in Cup.

KPP definitely needs to move to the left but Frizz is playing like he is 23 again. I think in the long run he will move over to the right and Lucas will play left.

Tuala has been averaging like 200m a game. Defense is superb and can finish a move. If he keeps averaging close to 200m a game, he is very much NRL standard!

Frizell and Lucas trained predominantly in the preseason on the left.
KPP’s injury probably threw a spanner but they should definitely revert back to the original plan.

I believe you pick your strongest side and worry about the positional issues with time. Talent will always work itself out. Plenty of young backs start on the wing. Pryce is too talented to be left in NSW Cup. If we do not work that out someone else will. We brought him here to play NRL. KPP looks like he has 50 games under his belt. Not four.

Bringing Pryce in on the wing solves nothing. He's not a big enough body to fix our early set yardage issues and he's not good in the air. It also puts him too far away from the ball that it all but negates his good attributes

I think the talk of rushing him into FG need to be tamped down. He has a way to go defencively to even consider him in the front line and our edge defence doesn't need to be weakened while our middle continues to collapse. I have no doubt he will be a long term FG 5/8 but for now it's way too soon

I think we are grooming him to play six in first grade sooner rather than later. I think he will come in for Gamble before round 10 anyway. I'm a big Gamble fan so I hope he finds a way to stay in the team!!

Everyone agrees he should be a 6. He is also not the first half who would have defensive issues exposed In FG and learn from them. But we will likely put him in When it is all too late.

a. It's Rd 4. He needs time to get used to Cup level defence first

b. A half with defencive issues can be made to work sure but only with a rock solid system around them. Right now we look shakey from 4th man in and that's a real concern

Can’t have him defending at 6.
He should be eased into first grade on the wing or at fullback when Ponga is out.

I have no argument against any of the concerns raised in here over Will’s defence. All valid and appreciated. My concern is when do we decide when the time is right?

Unless he’s played plenty of wing in the lower grades, I wouldn’t risk him there at NRL level- it’s such a specialised position these days and I don’t think it will do him any good to get put under the blowtorch at this stage of his career. Let him play first grade in his preferred positions when required, or stick to nsw cup to develop

I also don’t think the bench is good for his development- we all know how AOB utilises it and he’s likely to get 15 minutes game time max unless there’s an injury etc.

The way our current halves are going, his best bet is probably to spend a good month or two in reserves forming a partnership with Hastings and then making that number 6 Jersey his for the long run.

Besides his contact I was worried about his defensive decision-making as well in the NSW Cup game on the weekend. I don't think it's irredeemable but it's not first grade standard at the moment. Not sure we can carry that just yet.

Has anyone suggesting Pryce actually watched a full NSW Cup game? He’d get destroyed (especially if picked out of position).

I get we want some spark in the side right now while it’s not clicking but rushing in a rookie just to destroy his confidence when he could be our long-term 6 just ain’t it.
