We've never had an actual Knight playing in the Knights jersey before. Name checks out...

Good to hear. Probably mean we won't get Barney this season but I'd take any big middle we can get our hands on!

There was a report that Brodie Jones has been told he can leave so maybe that’s it?

Have we actually filled our top 30 or did we have a roster spot available?
Most sites have us listed with a full 30 man roster for the year

Unless Knight is signing a NSWCup deal we'd have to move someone on

We need to move heaven and earth to get Barney back here. Not to be dramatic but a forward leading middle would almost put us into a premiership window.

Has he ever been above average? Not worth a Brodie Jones trade.
Assuming you’re not being sarcastic on this one (although you very well might be) Brodie Jones is a below average NRL player. Liam Knight is at least a bigger body and would add a bit of muscle to the pack, even if he’s no world beater. Get him on for a couple of 15 minute stints either side of half time and tell him to rip and tear. Jones does the effort stuff well I’ll give him that, but he’s not an imposing figure on the field and sort of does what a lot of guys in our forward pack already do, a few fairly low impact runs and some tackling. If we can replace him with a big unit who can at least put out a few runs that help us get up field then I think it’s a good trade imo.

Barny + another 2 rep quality forwards and I reckon ya right - would love to see a running threat out of dummy half

Whilst I like your optimism I think if we manage to land Barney we won’t have enough in the cap for 2 more rep quality middle forwards. We can probably get Barnett + a couple of solid guys but I don’t see a situation where our pack is stacked full of rep players unless somehow we manage to get third party deals that rival the Roosters/Broncos etc which seems unlikely.

The best bet is to probably grab a couple of guys who look like they’re ready for the step up but are stuck behind established players at other clubs. Basically like what we’ve done with Mooney.

If we keep playing as we are and the wins follow, then getting the forwards we need will be a lot easier. It isn’t this place. It is the aura or shall I say, the lack of. But you cannot tell me there is not a distinct bounce in this side’s step they never had under O’Brien. From the first few sets you
Could see this is a side that wants to play attacking footy. We have a prop forward who actually is alert enough to support the ball carrier (a winger) on a seemingly low percentage play. He would have probably copped a serve from AOB for being out of position.

We wont win a Premiership until the front office is elite and competing on another level- 3rd parties should be a solid ambition. Other than that we need to develop our own talent that wants to stay for less.

I was very serious. He might be bigger but he's still pretty terrible. Not worth it.
